‘NCIS’ Star Loses Home After Financial Struggles – Celebrities Send Love

Former “NCIS” star Jennifer Esposito loses her beloved home following a financial setback.

The ’90s actress, 52, took to Instagram last week to share the sad news with her followers and explain why she’s being forced to give up her house.

“Yeah, I’m looking like [expletive] right now because I’ve been crying because I’m moving out of my home that I mortgaged to make my film,” Esposito said in a video, referring to her 2023 movie, “Fresh Kills.”

Jennifer Esposito Mortgaged Her Home to Make the Film

The “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” star also shared her frustration about “people who are in the spotlight” who didn’t bother to help promote her film.

“And then I said to myself, ‘You know what? Nobody owes anybody anything.’ And then I thought, ‘Do we? Do we as human beings?'” she continued. “Maybe that’s why we’re in this problem right now where we are. I think actually we do owe each other something. We owe each other decency as human beings. That’s what we owe each other.”

Esposito wrote, produced, directed, and starred in “Fresh Kills,” which she’d spent 15 years creating. The actress mortgaged her house and used the funds to make the film.

In 2024, she told KTLA that mortgaging her home was an act of pure faith in herself and her art.

“This town tells you what you can be and what you can’t be for so many years. I was just so over that and I thought, ‘Why am I asking the world to believe in me, I have to believe in me,'” she told the outlet at the time. “So I’m going to put my money down. At the end of my life, am I going to be so happy that my house was paid off? Or am I going to be so happy that I gave myself the opportunity that I’ve been waiting for for far too long? So I thought I’m going.”

Celebrities Shower Her With Love & Encouragement

Meanwhile, several celebrities rallied around Esposito in the comments.

“Will & Grace” star Debra Messing commented, “Jen, I am heartbroken for you. Your film was exquisite and I’m better for seeing it. The fact that you have to leave your home in order to give your Art to the world is maddening. Sending love and strength and appreciation.”

“Pulp Fiction” star Rosanna Arquette wrote, “Proud of you. Brava. I have not seen your film and would love to. I’m so sorry.”

“Iron Man 3” star Don Cheadle added, “Here for you, kiddo! Ya’ll check Jennifer’s movie out. She put and puts it all on the line. A real artist in the pursuit of truth!”

  1. Why would anyone mortgage their home to make a film? If you can’t get the initial funding through others’ belief in the project, that should tell you something. Do we need another mobile movie??
