Beloved ‘Full House’ Star Dave Coulier Shares Cancer Update on ‘Good Morning America’

Fans, friends, and loved ones have been rallying around Dave Coulier amid his second cancer battle, but the “Full House” star shared a welcome update on Wednesday, February 4, which is also World Cancer Day.

Dave Coulier Gives Heartfelt Cancer Update

In Coulier’s appearance on “Good Morning America,” he revealed he is in remission from tongue cancer. The actor had previously revealed his tongue diagnosis in December 2025, having previously been in remission from Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. “It’s been a roller coaster ride for sure,” he said, People reports. “I’m in remission with both cancers. And what a journey this has been.”

He continued, “[Radiation] has totally different side effects. It can steal parts of your life away from you, psychologically, emotionally, and certainly physically. And I wasn’t going to allow cancer to do that. I was going to laugh my way through it and keep the people that I love close to me. And that helps.”

A clip of Coulier’s appearance on “Good Morning America” sees him discussing how he is using his cancer journey to create awareness and advocate for early detection. Using his platform and sharing his voice is incredibly powerful, but the actor also revealed how he overcame his challenges with the help of his supportive network.

Fans Show Their Support

Among the people Coulier credits with helping him through his cancer battle are his wife, Melissa Bring, and his good friend and former “Full House” co-star, John Stamos.

“John flew into Michigan, came and visited us, and made me laugh. He’s my brother,” Coulier said. “He wore a bald cap and when he came around the corner dressed like that, I dropped to the floor laughing. He got COVID while he was staying with us, so we were like two fifth graders sitting in the hallway, talking to each other with walkie talkies. We’re very mature!”

A video of the actor discussing his support system was shared on Instagram, giving fans an opportunity to react and show their support. “He is a sweetheart,” a fan shared. “I’m a big fan,” another person shared. The comments also include praying emojis and heart emojis.

In December 2025, Coulier told People he was “in shock” when he learned he had been diagnosed with cancer for the second time. “It turns out, if I hadn’t had that PET scan, then they wouldn’t have had this early of a detection and I’d have been in […] a world of pain soon,” he said. “So as weird as this sounds, I’m now actually thankful for the first cancer, because it helped me detect this second one.”
