“This doctor says I have to go get my heart checked out because it’s damaged,” Barr said, as quoted by The Daily Mail. “So now I’m so pissed. Because I’m like, I need a new doctor.”

‘I Could Die on the Surgery Table’: Barr Shares Fears About Treatment

Barr, 73, spoke openly about her frustration with ongoing medical evaluations and the possibility of surgery, questioning the need for further testing.

“He’s always sending me to other doctors to check me out,” she said, as quoted by Fox News. “And I’m like, why do I have to go find something wrong when nothing’s wrong and then get in shape just so I can have surgery and die on the surgery table?”

Her comments reflected a deep unease with the idea of undergoing surgery, something she said she is not comfortable considering.

“I mean, it doesn’t make any sense,” she added.

As per USA Today, in 2018, Barr addressed false reports about her health after a claim surfaced suggesting she had suffered a heart attack. The rumor, which spread quickly online after a caller who identified herself as her assistant made the claim on a radio show, was later confirmed to be untrue.

Barr responded at the time to reassure fans. “I’m fine,” she wrote on X.

“I was the victim of a prank,” she later added, as per The Daily Mail. “I’ve had no medical issues. I’m spending time at home with my family and relaxing.”

In the same conversation, Barr also shared her perspective on how she wants to approach serious health decisions moving forward, offering a candid glimpse into her mindset.

Page Six quoted the star saying, “I would rather not get ready for any sort of surgery ever again in my life and just, you know, get a heart attack or a stroke and then just be put into the home. What do they call that place? Hospice.”

Her comments highlighted a deeply personal outlook on aging and care, as she reflected on what matters most to her in this stage of life.

Beyond her health concerns, Barr reflected on her life in Texas, describing it as a meaningful new chapter centered on nature and a slower pace.

She said spending time on her property has been a “dream come true,” even as it has brought unexpected challenges. In an interview with Fox News Digital, she shared:

“I’m doing a lot of mowing. I’ve got a really fantastic tractor out here, and I’m mowing. The only problem is I don’t clear the trees quite as good as I should, and I’m always hitting a tree and knocking it over, and it always hits me in the head.

“So, I’ve had several injuries recently. I had this one tree … I knocked it, and a great big old branch fell right on my head and trapped me in my tractor,” she said. “So I knew I had to get out of there, and it weighed about a hundred pounds.”

Barr said it took nearly an hour to move the branch and free herself, a moment that underscored both the risks and realities of her day-to-day life.

As she prepares for the release of her documentary, “Roseanne Barr is America,” Barr also reflected on her journey and career.

“I went from poverty to wealth through comedy. That’s a typical Jewish-American experience in my generation and a few other generations for minority people that are funny. I think it’s typical, you know,” she said.

Barr first rose to national prominence with her sitcom “Roseanne,” becoming one of television’s most recognizable voices. In recent years, she has stepped back from mainstream Hollywood, focusing on her personal life and creative projects.

Her latest remarks offer a candid window into how she is navigating health, aging, and what lies ahead.

  1. Who cares? What a nothing story. She is out to pasture with other aging critters and finally all her whining and complaining and crude bad mouthing means nothing. How did she ever become so popular in the first place?

  2. Love her, or hate her, Roseanne has always been unapologetically true to herself which is more than I can say for the majority of society.
