Hallmark fan favorite Ashley Williams has a new movie premiering soon, and it’s a personal one for the actress. Williams stars with her friend Niall Matter in the film “Much About Love” as part of Hallmark’s Fall Into Love campaign. It turns out the movie has an extra special meaning for Williams, who was more than one of the movie’s stars.
Why ‘Much About Love’ Makes Ashley Williams ‘So Proud’
Taking to Instagram, Williams was thrilled to promote her new movie. She shared the trailer for “Much About Love” along with a lengthy caption, revealing that the movie had a very personal meaning for the actress.
“I wrote this movie with my husband. There may or may not be Easter eggs all over it that only he and I know. 😉😉😉 After college, I went to Williamstown theater festival and I’ll never forget it. It was that Sleepaway Camp for grown-ups kind of feel, where we were spending our time putting on plays in repertory, but the real story was going on behind the scenes,” she stated.
Williams added that all these years later she gets to tell her stories from that special time in her life with her “Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater?” co-star. The actress made it clear that this was a film not to be missed before giving her husband, Neal Dodson, a shout-out.
“Special thanks to Neal Dodson, my writing and producing partner who I also happen to have two children with. This one was a ride and I can’t wait for people to see it! Airing August 29 on @hallmarkchannel @officiallyniallmatter @muse_entertainment @oneidazissou @wtfestival I’m so proud of this one and I can’t wait to share it with you,” Williams expressed.
Several familiar faces showed up in the comments to sing Williams’ praises. “I can’t wait for this!!!” replied “Mistletoe Murders” star Sarah Drew. “Hope Valley: 1874” star Bethany Joy Lenz chimed in to say, “Such a cuuuute idea!!!!”
Great American Family stars Danica McKellar and Cindy Busby gushed over Williams and the new film. Fans also let Williams know they can’t wait to see “Much About Love.”
Alison Sweeney and Ashley Williams Celebrate Exciting News
Last week at Hallmark’s 25th anniversary celebration in New York City, Williams and her pal, Alison Sweeney, dropped the news that they have a Christmas film hitting Hallmark airwaves this holiday season.
The friends couldn’t contain their happiness at working together again. They previously teamed up on “To Barcelona, With Love” and “To Barcelona, Forever,” which were both major hits with fans.
In a social media share, Williams and the “Days of Our Lives” star got their dance on to celebrate their new Christmas film. They were jumping and dancing around a hotel hallway without a care in the world.
“I am so excited,” gushed Sweeney in the video, while Williams said, “Merry Christmas, Ali.”
The two Hallmark fan favorites had huge smiles written all over their faces as they spread the good news. “This is going to be so much fun,” added Sweeney, and Williams agreed, sharing, “We’re going to have the best time.”
No further details about the film have been revealed, other than that it will be part of Hallmark’s annual Countdown to Christmas event beginning in October.
