Fans were more than a little excited to find out that Ashley Williams and Niall Matter were reuniting for a new Hallmark movie and were surely even more intrigued to discover that the story was filmed at a fairy tale-themed amusement park.
Now, you definitely won’t want to miss the preview for the movie which shows the theatrics, chemistry and romance that spark between these two stars in “Much About Love.”
See Ashley and Niall as ‘Star-Crossed Lovers’ Who Reconnect
Premiering Saturday, August 29, at 8 p.m. (7 p.m. Central) before streaming the next day on Hallmark+, the “Much About Love” official description tells potential viewers that Bea, “a TV director,” played by Williams, “returns to her theater roots for a Shakespeare festival and runs into an old flame,” Benny, who’s portrayed by Matters, which “rekindl[es] a merry war of wits in this modern retelling of ‘Much Ado About Nothing.'”
In the preview, we see as the former “star-crossed lovers” come back together to work on a new project as they also deal with their past. As Bea says at one point, “When Benny and I were doing ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ it was like we were meant to be.”
While that might make you think that their reunion would be smooth sailing as Bea and Benny give “romance an encore performance,” that’s not quite the way it is at all. In fact, Benny points out that “those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it,” which he says quite seriously.
Granted, the two might not be able to resist their connection, as one of the other characters notes, “what’s happening between Bea and Benny is love,” and it’s just as adorable as you might expect!
Ashley Said Niall Blows Her Away While Announcing Their New Movie
Ashley first announced that she had teamed up with Matter once again in a live video that she shared on Instagram back in July.
“Okay okay okay I can no longer sit on this delicious news,” the popular actress wrote in the caption of her post. “The incredible Niall Matter is my partner in crime on my upcoming Hallmark movie! Had to tell you all in a fun way because it’s been a while since we worked together on Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater. 🤶”
While also noting that it’s not necessarily easy to find the right kind of costar for the story that Williams wanted to tell, she explained that “what Niall brings in spades is so rare, supportive, professional, and expert in his craft.
“He blows me away,” she wrote, while adding, “I’m a lucky actress.”
In the recording, Williams discussed both the movie and her costar while absolutely beaming at the camera the entire time, which surely proves that she’s as excited for fans to see the movie as they are to watch it.
Of course, before you see “Much About Love,” you may want to rewatch “Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater,” which features Williams as a single mom navigating the holidays, who ends up with a festive sweater-wearing houseguest played by Matter.
