Sarah Jessica Parker Reunites With Her Iconic ‘SATC’ Love Interest: PHOTOS

Some reunions happen on-screen. Others, under the chandeliers of Lincoln Center. Sarah Jessica Parker, forever Carrie Bradshaw in the hearts of fans, stunned in a black winged gown at the New York City Ballet Fashion Gala, only to share a moment that felt right out of the series itself: a reunion with Mikhail Baryshnikov, her enigmatic on-screen love, “The Russian.”

Baryshnikov, 77, made a rare public appearance at the Lincoln Center event alongside his daughter, Anna Baryshnikov, 33. The father-daughter pair shared a warm exchange with Parker and her husband, Matthew Broderick, delighting fans who still remember Petrovsky’s whirlwind romance with Carrie Bradshaw in the show’s final season.

‘The Russian’ Steals the Spotlight Once Again

While Parker is no stranger to glamorous events, it was Baryshnikov who stole the spotlight. The world-renowned dancer, who hails from Latvia, looked effortlessly stylish in a classic black suit and round tinted sunglasses. Fans were quick to point out how ageless the ballet star appeared.

“Wow, he still looks great,” one fan commented online, while another wrote, “I’ve been in love with this man my whole life.”

The reunion quickly spread across social media, with nostalgic viewers reflecting on Carrie’s time in Paris during the show’s final season. “IRL, Carrie would have stayed with the Russian,” one fan joked, while another added, “Love it. Carrie moment.”

Their On-Screen Chemistry Lives On

Baryshnikov’s role as Petrovsky remains one of the most memorable arcs in “Sex & the City.” His sophisticated artist character swept Carrie off her feet, convincing her to move to Paris before their relationship imploded in heartbreak — paving the way for her reunion with Mr. Big.

The late Willie Garson, who portrayed Stanford Blatch, once recalled his time working with Baryshnikov, admitting their off-screen conversations were brief but amusing. “I’m not Russian, so it was very hard to make conversation with Mikhail,” Garson once said, as reported by People. “He’s just very Russian… You’d ask, ‘What’d you do last night?’ and he’d say, ‘Dinner.’ It’s just a different way of living.”

Before his brief but unforgettable TV role, Baryshnikov built an extraordinary career as one of the most celebrated male ballet dancers of all time. He began with the Mariinsky Ballet in Leningrad before defecting to Canada in 1974 and later joining the New York City Ballet.

He went on to become artistic director of the American Ballet Theatre and earned an Oscar nomination for “The Turning Point.”

Though decades have passed since his appearance on “Sex & the City,” his reunion with Parker reminded fans of the magic that defined their short-lived love story. As one admirer put it, “Seeing them together again feels like the perfect New York full-circle moment.”
