The Stats on William Daniels, aka Mr. Feeny From ‘Boy Meets World’

When it comes to iconic TV mentors, few have left a mark like Mr. Feeny. Wise, calm, and occasionally savage with a life lesson, the “Boy Meets World” teacher remains one of television’s most beloved figures.

But William “Bill” Daniels, the man behind the wisdom, is just as impressive in real life. From his long-standing Hollywood career to his 74-year marriage (yep, you read that right… 74 years!), Daniels proves that quiet consistency can outshine any Hollywood flash.

Becoming a Pop Culture Legend

Born in March of 1927, Bill Daniels is 98 years old and still going strong. His resume reads like a masterclass in television history: two-time Emmy winner for “St. Elsewhere,” the unmistakable voice of KITT in “Knight Rider,” and, of course, everyone’s favorite educator, George Feeny (per IMDb).

Daniels played Feeny from 1993 to 2000 and later returned for “Girl Meets World” (2014-2017). Because let’s be real; no one else could ever fill those shoes. The show made him an instant pop culture icon, inspiring fans to embrace learning, kindness, and a good old-fashioned reality check.

Even now, Daniels hasn’t lost his sharpness. He keeps a low profile, enjoys his peace, and stays active alongside his wife, actress Bonnie Bartlett. When asked about the love fans still have for his work, he told People, “Well, you have to be pleased, and I certainly am.” He even joked about doing it all again next year; because honestly, the world could use a little more Feeny energy.

For his 98th birthday, Daniels kept things simple (People). No Hollywood parties. No red carpets. Just calm, quiet, and family. The kind of grounded peace that feels right for a man who’s spent decades teaching everyone else about balance.

A Marriage Worth Its Own Award

If any Hollywood couple deserves a standing ovation, it’s Bill Daniels and Bonnie Bartlett. The two married back in 1951, after meeting at Northwestern University, according to People. That’s over 74 years together; no small feat in an industry where relationships sometimes don’t outlast the press cycle.

Their love story hasn’t always been picture-perfect, but that’s what makes it real. Both have spoken openly about tough times in their early years, saying it took growth and honesty to build the lasting bond they share now. Bartlett once called their marriage “very painful” at times (People). But decades later, they describe their relationship as peaceful, grounded, and full of mutual respect.

They even made Emmy history together, each winning awards the same night for “St. Elsewhere,” where they played (fittingly) a married couple. Later, Bartlett appeared on “Boy Meets World” as Dean Bolander, who went on to marry Mr. Feeny. Talk about life imitating art.

After losing an infant early in their marriage, the couple adopted two sons, Michael and Robert. Today, their days are slower but full of laughter, long walks, and love. Bartlett summed it up perfectly when she told People, “It’s like we don’t have to communicate almost. We just know what to do.”

Nearly a century of life, over 70 years of marriage, and one unforgettable role later, Bill Daniels remains the definition of timeless. Still wise. Still grounded. Still Mr. Feeny at heart.

Fans can see William Daniels on Dancing with the Stars tonight (October 14, 2025) at 8:00pm ET on ABC, as “Boy Meets World” co-star Danielle Fishel dedicates her dance to him.
