Joseph Duggar’s In-Laws the Caldwells Break Their Silence With Emotional Family Update

Joseph Duggar, a former TLC reality star, was arrested on March 18, 2026, in connection with alleged incidents from 2020 in Panama City Beach, Florida. His wife, Kendra Duggar, was also reportedly charged in a separate matter in Arkansas later that month.

Now, nearly a month after news of the Joseph Duggar situation first broke, Kendra Duggar’s parents, Paul and Christina Caldwell, have finally shared an emotional public statement on social media. Read on to discover what Joseph Duggar’s in-laws revealed.

Paul and Christina Caldwell Release Their First Public Statement

Following the March 2026 arrest of their son-in-law, Paul and Christina Caldwell have finally released their first public statement.

The Caldwells shared a family photo on Instagram on April 15, 2026, paired with a lengthy caption. The image featured eight of their children alongside Paul and Christina. Notably absent was their oldest daughter, Kendra, as well as her husband and their four children.

The Caldwells began their statement, writing, “Our family is both troubled and heartbroken over the alleged actions committed by our son-in-law.”

They continued, “We are devastated for the young girl, a child who was courageous in every way to share her truth. We stand by her, both in support and prayer, and forever will.”

The Caldwells Share Support for Kendra & Their Grandchildren

The Caldwells continued their statement by expressing how proud they are of the victim for coming forward, writing, “Our love for this child remains at the forefront of our family’s priorities and minds. We are proud of her for being strong enough to share her story while also retaining her own identity and joy.”

They added, “We pray all victims of crimes can be as courageous as this young girl is. They should be able to share their story, to trust in the judicial process, and to do so without fear of retaliation. You are not alone.”

However, the Caldwell family also made sure to show love and support for their daughter, Kendra, and her kids, writing, “At the same time, we also recognize how traumatic this incident has been for our grandchildren as well and continue to pray for their strength. Our love for them, and our daughter Kendra, remains.”

The Caldwell Family Asks Fans for Privacy Amid the Joseph Duggar Situation

The Caldwells added, “We believe in a God who is just and loving. One who loves all of His children, especially the vulnerable and innocent.”

They continued, “The only way to freedom is to shine light in the darkness. And in this time, part of the light in our lives has come through the outpouring of love and prayer from people near and far. Thank you who have given in all the ways, through prayer, finances, time, energy and words of encouragement. We love you all.”

The Caldwell family ended their statement, writing, “At this time, we have no further comment and request privacy.” While the Caldwell family asked fans for privacy during this time, they also launched a GoFundMe on April 4, 2026, to secure funds for housing.

At the time of Joseph Duggar’s arrest, Paul, Christina, and eight of their children lived in a rental home owned by Joseph and Kendra Duggar. Since the arrest, the Caldwells were asked to leave the residence.

In a jail call, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Kendra told Joseph Duggar, “My family said they’re moving out in a month and everybody is going to hold them to it.” The phone call was made on March 25, 2026.

As of this writing, the Caldwells have raised nearly $35,000 through their GoFundMe.

As the Joseph Duggar situation continues to unfold, the Caldwell family’s statement reflects both the emotional weight of the moment and their focus on supporting those closest to them. For now, they appear to be leaning on their faith, their family, and the outpouring of support from others as they navigate this difficult chapter.
