Friends Rally Around the Caldwell Family Amid Joseph Duggar Situation

The Duggar family was a staple on TLC throughout the 2010s. While the family is known for their fundamentalist Christian beliefs and wholesome lifestyle, they have faced their share of controversy over the years.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggarโ€™s oldest son, Josh Duggar, was arrested in April 2021. He was later convicted in May 2022 and sentenced to 12 years in federal prison.

Now, in March 2026, another one of Jim Bob and Michelleโ€™s sons, Joseph Duggar, has reportedly been charged with similar crimes. This situation has been especially difficult for Joseph Duggarโ€™s in-laws, the Caldwell family, as it has directly impacted their lives.

Amid the ongoing situation, friends are rallying around Paul and Christina Caldwell and their children. One supporter, Amy Paul, recently took to social media to speak out on behalf of the family. Read on to discover what she shared.

Amy Paul Explains Why She Drove 14 Hours to Help the Caldwell Family

In a lengthy Instagram post, Amy Paul explained to fans why she drove 14 hours to help Paul and Christina Caldwell and their kids. She shared, “The answer is simpleโ€ฆthere was a need and as Christians we are called to be โ€˜the hands and feet of Jesus.โ€™”

She also added, “I was also appalled at the lack of Christian charity that is being shown to this precious family that is in crisis.”

Maybe even more shocking to fans is the fact that Amy confirmed the speculation that Paul and Christina were the ones to turn their son-in-law into the police.

Amy wrote, “Not only were they put in the awful situation of turning their son-in-law into the police because he wasnโ€™t man enough to take accountability himself, but heโ€™s also kicking them out of their house and giving them 30 days to get out!”

Paul and Christina Caldwell Had Been Living in Joseph Duggarโ€™s House

In her social media post, Amy Paul also confirmed that the Caldwells were kicked out of their rental property, owned by Joseph and Kendra Duggar. According to The Sun, Paul and Christina Caldwell moved into the 1,540-square-foot home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, after the birth of their ninth child in May 2021.

Amy also revealed that Joseph and Kendra Duggar had the power and water turned off on the rental property, with Kendraโ€™s 8 siblings still living there with her parents. Kendra (27) is the oldest of the Caldwell siblings. Her 8 younger siblings, ย Lauren (25), Micah (22), Nathan (19), Timothy (16), Olivia (15), Jesiah (11), Isaiah (7), and Moriah (4), all still live at home.

In a jail call, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Kendra told Joseph Duggar, “My family said theyโ€™re moving out in a month and everybody is going to hold them to it.” The phone call was made on March 25, 2026.

The Caldwells Have Reached Out for Prayers and Support From Fans

Since that phone call was made, Kendra Duggarโ€™s parents started a GoFundMe in order to secure money for housing. On Saturday, April 4, 2026, Paul Caldwell launched a GoFundMe. However, the original fundraiser was taken down.

In his original message, Paul shared, “The funds raised will go directly toward legal representation to help us navigate the challenges ahead, as well as finding a safe place to live. Both are essential for our well-being and peace of mind. We are grateful for any help, whether itโ€™s a donation or simply sharing our story with others who might be able to support us.”

On April 8, 2026, the Caldwell familyโ€™s GoFundMe was relaunched. This time Paul rephrased where the funds would be going, taking out any mention of legal representation and making clear that the money would be used for housing purposes.

Joseph Duggarโ€™s father-in-law wrote, “My family is facing a difficult and urgent situation. We are in need to cover displacement expenses. We will not be using these funds for our legal expenses.”

As of this writing, the Caldwells have raised nearly $35,000 through their GoFundMe.

As the situation continues to unfold, the Caldwell family appears to be leaning on both their faith and the support of those around them.
