If there’s one thing that Heidi Klum, 52, is known for, it’s her savvy style sense. The former “America’s Got Talent” judge and current “Project Runway” host proved that once again after hitting the town in an eye-catching skintight leather dress. This comes after the model confidently opened up about gaining weight.
Heidi’s Dress Boasted ‘a Rippling Water Effect’
Klum was spotted in New York City recently and “made quite the impression in an LBD that looked like it was made out of liquid,” according to InStyle. “Her strapless leather dress clung to the bodice before melting into fluid, ruched folds at the hip, creating a rippling water effect. With a high thigh-high slit for good measure, Klum was able to move freely in her skintight dress.”
“The rest of her look was kept in line with the same color story, but through minimal accessories that let the high-gloss texture do the work,” InStyle notes. “She slipped into black pointed-toe pumps and carried a slouchy leather shoulder bag in her hands.”
“Klum kept her look spring-ready with a pair of oversized aviator sunglasses for a hint of off-duty ease,” per InStyle. “A gold bangle, silver earrings, and cocktail rings topped off her outfit.”
The Daily Mail also pointed out that Klum “[let] her signature golden locks cascade freely over her shoulders in gentle waves,” while “she sharpened her luminous complexion with naturalistic makeup.”
Heidi Addressed Weight Gain, Pregnancy Rumors & Menopause
GettyKlum’s latest fashionable appearance comes after the star talked about the buzz around her famous (and changing) figure.
Facing “pregnancy speculation … after attending the Venice International Film Festival in August 2025,” Klum addressed the situation in “On & Off the Catwalk,” according to Hello! In the docuseries, “the supermodel opened up about her weight gain and shared that it is a result of menopause.”
“Many say she’s too fat or too thin or pregnant, but I am not pregnant,” Klum said. “I’m just a little fatter now. It’s the menopause.”
Indeed, the Mayo Clinic explains that “as they get older, women may notice that staying at their usual weight becomes harder. It’s common for weight gain to start a few years before menopause, during the time known as perimenopause. Weight gain often continues at about the rate of 1.5 pounds each year as a woman goes through her 50s.”
What causes menopause weight gain? “The decrease in estrogen and progesterone, along with aging in general, triggers metabolic changes in the body,” according to The University of Chicago Medicine. “One change is a decrease in muscle mass, resulting in fewer calories being burned. If fewer calories are being burned, fat accumulates. Genetics, lack of sleep and a sedentary lifestyle play a role as well. It can be a vicious cycle. We lose muscle tone and accumulate more fat as our metabolism is slowing down, contributing to more weight gain. And that cycle continues.”
