NCT 127 Releases Seventh Full Album Following ‘AGT’ Performance

NCT 127 has officially released its seventh full-length album just days after taking the stage on “America’s Got Talent.”

The K-pop group released “BLINGY’ on August 24 as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations. The nine-track project arrives during a new chapter for the group and looks back at the journey that began in 2016.

Interestingly, American viewers already received an early preview. During an energetic AGT appearance, NCT 127 performed “Piñata,” a song off the new album, leaving fans begging for more.

NCT 127 Blessed AGT Viewers with an Early Taste of the New Album

NCT 127 appeared as a special guest during the August 19 live results show of “America’s Got Talent.” The group performed a medley that began with “Kick It,” one of its best-known hits, before moving into “Piñata,” off the new album.

This delightful preview gave viewers a glimpse of the music the beloved group was preparing to release only days later. The song had already been released ahead of the album, but the AGT performance brought it to a major American TV audience.

After their performance, host Terry Crews acknowledged the enthusiastic audience reaction and pointed viewers toward the August 24 album release. The K-pop group also expressed excitement about performing in the United States again. They encouraged viewers to look forward to their comeback.

Fans Wanted More After NCT 127’s AGT Performance

The comment section beneath the official AGT performance quickly filled with reactions from NCT 127 fans. Many were amused that the talent show’s judges were getting such an early look at the group’s new era.

“The concept of Simon Cowell seeing ‘Piñata’ before me,” one viewer joked. “Thrilled that NCT 127 could showcase their amazing talent to AGT viewers!! So proud of them!” another viewer wrote.

Others were more excited about NCT 127 performing for an audience that might not normally follow K-pop. The crowd inside the theater also attracted some attention, with one commenter declaring, “This crowd is so crazy.”

For some fans, the appearance brought back memories of the group’s previous promotions in the United States. Others also immediately began asking for more. “NCT 127 should tour in the US!” one commenter wrote. “THIS IS NOT ENOUGH, I NEED MORE!!!” another enthusiastic viewer exclaimed.

Fortunately for all viewers, the wait for more music was notably short. Five days after the AGT performance, NCT 127 released “BLINGY” in full.

‘BLINGY’ Marks a New Beginning for NCT 127 After 10 Years

This new album arrives at an important point in NCT 127’s career. The group debuted in July 2016 and has since released songs including “Cherry Bomb,” “Kick It,” “Sticker,” “Fact Check,” and “Walk.” Their latest work, “BLINGY,” celebrates that history while also looking toward what comes next.

“BLINGY” contains nine songs. Along with “Blingy” and “Piñata,” the album also includes “Legacy,” “Step Up,” “IKR,” “Getaway,” and “Day After Day.” Two tracks on the album have an even more direct connection to the group’s 10th anniversary.

“127 Million Miles” includes all seven remaining members, including Doyoung and Jungwoo, who are completing their mandatory military service. Meanwhile, Taeyong and Johnny helped write “I mean, It’s about time,” which reflects on continuing the group’s journey together.

We tried to find our way back to where we started,” Taeyong told reporters. He also acknowledged that the group’s current lineup is not what the members imagined when they first debuted. However, he said they remain focused on the memories and trust they have built with fans. He also expressed respect and support for Mark, who left the group in April.

NCT 127 is set to begin its fifth world tour, “NEO CITY THE REDLINE,” with three shows in Seoul from September 18 through September 20. Haechan has said the group hopes to take its music to fans in even more parts of the world.
