Scotty McCreery Premieres New Music Video for ‘Bottle Rockets’

Country star and “American Idol” season 10 winner Scotty McCreery premiered the music video for his single “Bottle Rockets” on September 19. The release of the video was special, as it initially premiered on the CMT billboard in Times Square in New York City at noon. An hour later, McCreery posted the video to his YouTube channel, and on September 20 the video will premiere on CMT and MTV networks.

The “Bottle Rockets” video features McCreery relaxing on the beach and jamming out with ’90s rockers Hootie & the Blowfish, with whom McCreery collaborated on the track. The chorus of the song incorporates elements of Hootie’s 1994 hit “Hold My Hand.”

The vibe of the video is as chill and fun as the song’s lyrics and the summertime memories they evoke, and fans seem to be loving it so far.

Scotty McCreery Had a Blast Filming the Video

McCreery has been teasing the release of the “Bottle Rockets” video since a September 7 Instagram post, which featured a clip of the singer barefoot on a beach. “Could be something,” he captioned the reel.

A few days later, McCreery posted yet another teaser for the video, a short clip showing him singing and strumming his guitar. “Bet you can’t guess who’s sitting next to me for this video shoot,” he wrote over the clip, and many fans took to the comments section with their guesses.

Naturally, the others in the video turned out to be Hootie & the Blowfish, and McCreery expressed how thrilled he was to have gotten the chance to work with the band.

“I’m honored to have one of my favorite bands @hootieofficial join me in the music video for Bottle Rockets 🎆🎆,” he posted on the day of the video’s premiere. He also revealed the location of the shoot, adding, “We had a lot of fun filming this in Charleston on the Isle of Palms and we’re excited to share it with y’all!”

McCreery’s Pals Chimed In

McCreery has been open about how much he loved collaborating with Hootie & the Blowfish ever since the July 18 release of his latest EP “Scooter & Friends.” And it seems the band was just as happy to be working alongside the “American Idol” winner.

“Had ourselves a time! 🍻” Hootie frontman Darius Rucker commented on McCreery’s latest post, and the band’s official Instagram account chimed in to say, “We had a blast! 🎆”
