Dee Valladares’ Head of Household reign has already shaken up the “Big Brother 28” house. The Week 7 Power of Veto has created even more uncertainty heading into Thursday’s eviction.
Dee initially nominated Drew Campbell, LaTrice “LaLa” Verrett and Taylor Brown. All three nominees played in Saturday’s Veto competition alongside Dee, Angela Murray and Barrett Pfeiffer. LaLa ultimately won the Power of Veto, allowing her to remove herself from the block.
LaLa did exactly that during Monday’s Veto ceremony, forcing Dee to name a replacement nominee.
LaLa Saves Herself From the Block
LaLa’s Veto victory came just two weeks after she made “Big Brother” history by becoming the oldest Houseguest to win the Wall competition. Furthermore, her latest win gives her another opportunity to control her fate in the game.
Before the ceremony, LaLa had asked Dee and Angela whether they would have a problem with her using the Veto on herself. Neither appeared opposed to the move.
Once LaLa removed herself, Dee had to choose a fourth nominee.
Dee Names Mallory as the Replacement
Dee ultimately nominated Mallory Aurichio, putting another member of her own alliance in danger.
The final nominees are now Drew, Mallory, and Taylor. However, Thursday’s BB Block Buster competition still offers one of them a chance to escape the block.
Mallory’s nomination is particularly significant because she and Drew are both members of the Mosh Pit alliance, the group Dee had only recently joined. Dee had already put Drew on the block despite their alliance. Replacing LaLa with Mallory creates another major crack in the group.
According to conversations from the live feeds, Mallory had been one of the names most heavily discussed as a possible replacement nominee. This discussion continued throughout the weekend.
Taylor Wants Answers
Before the Veto ceremony, Taylor went to the Head of Household room to question Dee and Angela about why she had been nominated.
Taylor wondered whether her relationship with LaLa or her more recent closeness with Haley Thogmartin had contributed to the decision.
Angela repeatedly emphasized that she wasn’t the Head of Household. Meanwhile, Dee told Taylor that other Houseguests had been saying her name.
Taylor wasn’t satisfied with the explanation.
The conversation then turned toward Angela’s own frustrations with Taylor. Angela explained why she believed Taylor had been coming after her.
Taylor later continued the discussion downstairs. There, she confronted Melody Morris about whether she had been spreading information about Taylor targeting Angela.
Eviction Picture Is Changing
With Mallory now on the block, the eviction picture is much less straightforward than it appeared. This change became clear when Dee first made her nominations.
Dee had initially indicated that Taylor was a major target. However, Mallory’s replacement nomination has opened the door to a different outcome. Live-feed conversations have suggested Mallory could now be in serious danger. This depends on who wins Thursday’s BB Block Buster and how the remaining Houseguests vote.
Yash Patel, meanwhile, has largely remained out of the discussion as a replacement option. That’s partly because of the deal he made with Dee after accepting her $5,000 BB Bribe. Under the agreement, Yash promised to keep Dee and Rick Devens safe. This would happen if he wins a future Head of Household competition.
That deal has helped keep Yash out of Dee’s immediate line of fire. Meanwhile, the rest of the house scrambles to figure out where the power is shifting.
Now, Drew, Mallory, and Taylor are left fighting for survival.
One of them will be able to save themselves by winning Thursday’s BB Block Buster. The other two will remain vulnerable to eviction.
With Dee already fracturing alliances during her HOH reign, the Week 7 eviction could have consequences. These consequences may go far beyond whoever leaves the house Thursday night.
