“Big Brother” alum Paul Abrahamian thinks the “Big Brother 28” newcomers may have waited too long to take their shot at the returning players.
Abrahamian joined Derek Frazier, Hannah Chaddha and Claire Rehfuss on Heavy Crown Network’s “The Royal Tea” Week 8 recap to discuss the season and how the returning Icons have navigated the game.
As a two-time “Big Brother” finalist who entered Season 19 as the sole returning player, Abrahamian offered a unique perspective on the advantage that experience can bring. Looking at “BB28,” Abrahamian questioned why the new players did not organize against the Icons earlier.

Abrahamian knows firsthand how different “Big Brother” can feel the second time around.
He originally competed on “Big Brother 18” before returning for Season 19. During “The Royal Tea,” Abrahamian explained that his previous experience gave him an understanding of the game that first-time players did not necessarily have.
However, Abrahamian pushed back against the perception that his second run was easy.
“It was not easy. It was not. I was so careful,” Abrahamian said.
He recalled repeatedly expecting the house to unite against him and wondering how he continued avoiding nomination.
Abrahamian said he would have welcomed other returning players because they could have taken some of the attention away from him.

Abrahamian believes the “BB28” newcomers should have approached the Icons strategically early in the season.
He explained that targeting returning players immediately can be difficult, but suggested that removing at least one before jury would have been beneficial.
“I don’t know why this season wasn’t more aggressive trying to get the Icons out,” Abrahamian said.
He added that there had been opportunities to make a move, but the house allowed those moments to pass.
The situation has become particularly complicated now that the season has entered the jury stage. The podcast panel noted that the remaining Icons have discussed voting together as a jury bloc, potentially giving them significant influence even if they do not reach the final two.

Despite their strong positions, Abrahamian is not convinced an Icon will ultimately win the season.
He compared the dynamics to “Big Brother 19,” suggesting that some newcomers could eventually become frustrated by how far the returning players advanced.
“I don’t see any of the Icons winning,” Abrahamian said, while acknowledging that his prediction could be wrong.
The game is far from settled.
Rick Devens recently faced serious danger after becoming a replacement nominee, with Dee Valladares among the players considering whether it was time to make a move against him. Devens ultimately kept himself alive by winning the Blockbuster competition.
For Abrahamian, those close calls demonstrate how quickly the season can change.
With the jury phase underway and fewer opportunities remaining, “Big Brother 28” newcomers may finally have to make the move Abrahamian believes they should have considered weeks ago.
