“Big Brother” season 21 player Tommy Bracco posted on Instagram Tuesday morning to share a positive update about a tumor on his spine.
Tommy Bracco’s Health Update
According to his Instagram caption, Bracco has been living with a tumor on his spine, waiting for the right time to get it removed. During that waiting period, Bracco has danced on Broadway, gotten married to Joey Macli, traveled the world, and competed on a TV show.
Although he didn’t outright say it, Bracco’s post implied he had surgery to successfully remove the tumor. Broadway actor Andrew Keenan-Bolger, whom Bracco performed with in “Newsies,” commented on the post, saying, “Glad to hear surgery went well. Sending you love, brother.”
In a separate post on his Instagram story, Bracco shared a picture of the X-ray, writing, “They still have to run tests to be 100% sure but the tumor looks benign which is obviously the greatest news.”
Bracco expressed gratitude for both his medical team and his family, writing, “The doctors and the staff at MSK are angels on Earth doing Gods work!!” Regarding his family and friends supporting him during this difficult time, Bracco wrote, “I am the richest man in the world because of my husband, parents, brother, family and friends.”
Although Bracco said he’s “not out of the woods yet,” he assured fans he’s going to be okay, and, despite what one doctor told him, he will dance again once he’s recovered. Bracco got vulnerable in his post, writing, “Of course I was scared but I kept reminding myself all along that Gods got me, what was meant for me would be, and that I could handle anything brought my way.”
Tommy Bracco’s Reality TV Career
GettyA Broadway dancer, Bracco got his reality TV start on “Big Brother” season 21, where he came in fifth place. From there, Bracco and his alliance member Analyse Talavera competed on MTV’s “The Challenge: Ride or Dies.” Although the two tried their hardest in the week four elimination, they were not able to win and were sent home.
Although Bracco has yet to return to “The Challenge,” his reality TV career isn’t over. Most recently, Bracco competed alongside his father and “Challenge” winner Cara Maria Sorbello on Fox’s new game show, “99 to Beat.”
Bracco is still performing on Broadway, most recently appearing in “The Heart of Rock and Roll.” He performed with the show for its entire two month run.
