Tonight, MTV aired the 11th episode of “The Challenge: Vets & New Threats,” and here’s everything that happened during the episode, including who won the challenge and which pair got eliminated.
What Happened Last Episode on ‘The Challenge: Vets & New Threats’
Last week, partners Michaela Bradshaw and Cedric Hodges won the trivia heights-over-water challenge, ensuring their safety. CT Tamburello and Tay Wilcoxson lost, having answered the fewest number of trivia questions correctly before falling into the water. The house voted Adrienne Naylor and Theo Campbell into elimination.
The elimination challenge required players to help their blindfolded partner aim balls in an attempt to knock down 15 targets. The first pair to knock down all their targets won, sending the other pair home. Theo and Adrienne were successful, and CT and Tay were officially eliminated.
The Daily Challenge: Band Together
“The Challenge” cast was tasked with collecting heavy items wrapped in resistance bands with the eventual goal of stabilizing a plank enough to walk to the edge without falling into the water below.
Dee Valladares was the first challenger to make it to the end of her plank without falling in, grabbing the flag and making it back to land. She and her partner, Derrick Kosinski won the challenge and their safety.
Aviv Melmed and Yeremi Hykel lost the challenge. They will be one of the pairs competing in the later elimination.
The Vote: Who’s Going Into Elimination?
Before the elimination, the challengers were asked if anyone wanted to “stake a claim,” meaning they were interested in stealing someone else’s partner. Gabe Wai decided to stake a claim on Nany Gonzales. This sent him and Nany’s partner, Justin Hinsley, straight into a competition. If Gabe wins, he and Nany become partners. If Justin wins, Gabe and his original partner, Jonna Mannion, will go into elimination against Aviv and Yeremi.
The challenge required Gabe and Justin to race up a hill to a puzzle. The first person to complete the puzzle and race back down the hill wins. Justin won, keeping Nany as his partner and sending Gabe and Jonna into elimination. Should Gabe and Jonna win the elimination and stay in the game, they are no long able to stake any claims. They are stuck as partners.
The Elimination
Tonight’s elimination asked one person in each pair to climb up a rope wall and knock down a series of pegs. The other partner then inserts those pegs on the other side of the wall, climbing up. The first person to hit a button at the top of the climbing wall wins.
Although Gabe and Jonna were in the lead for a moment, Yeremi and Aviv ultimately won the elimination. Gabe cried, and while Jonna was trying to comfort him, she too started crying.
In a teaser for the next episode, we can see that the main challenge involves cars, and Adrienne may or may not stake a claim on Turbo Çamkıran.
