Kristen Doute Reveals 1 Rule She Has for Her Wedding Day

Kristen Doute is just starting her wedding planning, but she already has one major rule for her special day. More than a year after getting engaged to Luke Broderick during a trip to Hawaii, “The Valley” star revealed she’ll skip one usual piece of wedding day attire.

Speaking with People magazine in August 2025, Doute, 42, said she will not wear any shoes with her wedding gown. “That’s been my only rule from the get-go,” the Bravo star told the outlet. “I don’t want to wear shoes.”

Elsewhere on the non-traditional side, Doute said she’s unsure if she’ll have a wedding party, but if so, the only “Valley” stars who will be in it are Brittany Cartwright and Zach Wickham.

Doute hired “Summer House” alum Stephen McGee to plan her wedding. McGee’s Instagram bio describes him as an “event planner and dinner party thrower.”

Kristen Doute Previously Teased a Destination Wedding

Doute has shared very few details about her wedding, but now that McGee is in charge, she will hopefully have updates soon. In an April 2205 interview with Us Weekly,  she teased a small-scale destination wedding.

“I would love to include everyone,” she said at the time. “But between the two of us, and all of the states we’ve lived in, and friends and family, we’re like destination wedding.”

Broderick added that the couple planned to invite “basically immediate family, maybe some extended family, but then best friends, like the tightest people to us outside of blood.”

The full cast of “The Valley,” which included Jax Taylor, Danny Booko and Nia Sanchez, Janet and Jason Caperna, and exes Jesse Lally and Michelle Saniei for Season 2, will likely not be invited.

Kristen Doute Put her Wedding on Hold to Welcome Daughter Kaia Lily

Shortly after getting engaged, Doute found out she was pregnant. She welcomed daughter, Kaia Lily, in June 2025 after a lengthy fertility journey.

“She’s here, and we still can’t believe it,” the new mom told Us Weekly soon after her baby’s birth. “We’re completely overwhelmed with love and so grateful for her— our lives are already changed completely.”

Doute made it clear that she had some rules for friends who were coming to meet baby Kaia for the first time. In a post on Threads, she wrote, “Don’t kiss my baby; don’t touch her face. If you were out of town, at a party, have even a TICKLE in your throat — don’t come over; get that TDAP shot, baby!”
