After a heart attack and stroke at just 23 years old, he was hospitalized in 2025 after his body rejected the heart transplant. During an interview she explained that he had been in the hospital for weeks but had begun to show improvement, saying he was “walking and talking” again.
Leakes has said she often keeps details about her son’s health private out of respect for him. She’s explained that “his medical journey is ultimately his story to tell.
