Craig Conover is busier than ever. The “Southern Charm” star just revealed two major milestones in his growing business empire — including a fresh home collection under his Sewing Down South brand and a high-profile speaking gig alongside some of the biggest names in business and entertainment.
The 35-year-old entrepreneur and pillow designer continues to expand his influence well beyond reality TV. From fabric launches to keynote speeches, Conover is proving that his career is anything but one-note.
Craig Conover Expands His Sewing Down South Brand With New Collection
Inside the bustling Sewing Down South warehouse in Charleston, Conover announced the arrival of his latest home décor line — the Modern collection. The pillow line, which officially went on sale on October 1, features crisp blue and white designs like the Mod Dot, Mod Geo, and Mod Flora. The response has been immediate. The Bravo star warned fans in an Instagram Story that the collection was already at “high risk” of selling out online.
“Look how these stack,” he told followers as he showed off the new patterns in a show-and-tell video. One day earlier, he hyped the launch with a countdown on social media, calling it a “fun announcement” and encouraging fans to “deck your living room, guest room, primary bedroom, anything you want out in our brand new collection.”
This release follows Conover’s recent partnership with Sewing Down South Textiles on The Coastal Collection, which launched in Hamilton, Missouri — also known as Quilt Town, USA. Several Bravolebs from “The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys,” along with “Southern Charm” co-star Salley Carson, joined him to celebrate the milestone.
Conover founded Sewing Down South in 2019, turning what was once mocked as a hobby on “Southern Charm” into an eight-figure business. “Sewing isn’t just something for grandmothers — I mean, they’re great at it!” he explained when launching the company. “But sewing is a craft, and designing pillows is a form of art and personal expression — at least for me it is.”
The ‘Southern Charm’ Star Joins A-List Lineup at Variety’s Future of Brand Summit
Conover’s entrepreneurial moves don’t stop at fabric. He’s also stepping into the thought leadership arena. On October 7, he’ll join the inaugural Future of Brand Summit hosted by Variety, speaking onstage with other industry leaders including Michael Strahan, Christian Siriano, and executives from JPMorgan Chase and Pepsi. The event focuses on the innovation and creativity shaping the future of branding — a fitting platform for someone who turned a sewing hobby into a lifestyle empire.
He shared the announcement via Instagram Stories, expressing his excitement about joining the summit’s A-list roster. This latest venture follows his September announcement of a brand-new television production company, Plaid Horse Productions.
“After spending over a decade in front of the camera, it feels awesome to be stepping behind the scenes and getting involved from day one — helping shape the vision, build out the programming, and connect with the right people,” he said.
“Being part of something from the ground up like this is really exciting, and honestly, I couldn’t ask for a better team to bring Plaid Horse Productions to life.”
Beyond Sewing Down South and Plaid Horse Productions, Conover also shares several Charleston-based business ventures with “Southern Charm” co-star Austen Kroll, including the By the Way restaurant and The Waverly wedding venue.
All seasons of “Southern Charm” are available to stream on Peacock.
