Pete Davidson is making some major changes in his life, at least when it comes to real estate. Just after selling his Staten Island condo, the “Saturday Night Live” alum has put his Westchester home on the market for $2.275 million.
Davidson Says Staying at the Property Is ‘Like Living in Paradise’
“Davidson, who shoots his eponymous Netflix podcast in the home’s garage,” according to Mansion Global (MG), “bought the over 6-acre North Salem property that is about 90 minutes from New York City for $1.95 million in 2023.”
Although the star is sad to sell what he called a “hip, funky cool place” while talking to MG, due to the fact that he experienced a lot in the home — including the fact that it was where his partner Elsie Hewitt told him she was pregnant — MG notes that his daughter, “Scottie Rose is the reason Davidson’s selling: His extended family lives in Staten Island and New Jersey, and the commute’s become a bit much.”
“It’s literally like living in paradise,” Davidson said. Indeed, MG notes that “[h]e liked the property and the community so much that he ended up making it his permanent home.”
“What’s cool about North Salem and the whole Westchester area is everyone pretty much keeps to themselves, and I really don’t get bothered up there,” he said.
The Home Includes a ‘Secret Speakeasy’
Davidson’s home dates back to the 1930s, with the star telling MG that he “added little things to it while still keeping its integrity and charm.” Those “little things” include a guesthouse, a movie theater, a swimming pool, a cold-plunge pool, a hot tub, a sauna and screened-in porches.
That’s not to mention the fact that “[t]here’s a secret speakeasy — a wall slides open” to reveal it, according to the star, who also noted, “And there’s a media room and a kitchenette. It’s really fun, and it’s great if you have a family, and it’s also great if you just want to use it like a getaway.”
MG also points out that “[p]erhaps the quirkiest feature of the house is a 150-gallon fish tank that Davidson joked he didn’t remember buying when he was a guest on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers.'”
While talking about the home, agent Jaclene Ginnel of Ginnel Real Estate told MG, “It offers everything at once — easy proximity to New York City, absolute privacy at the end of a long gated drive, serene pond views from nearly every room, and the intimate charm of a 1930s cottage with every modern amenity reimagined. It feels light and fun while also cozy and charming, and the year-round lap pool looking out over the lake is beyond spectacular.”
