Andy Cohen has shared where the next “Real Housewives” locations could be. The “Real Housewives” executive producer recently detailed what he looks for when finding new “Real Housewives” locations.
New locations for the “Real Housewives” franchise don’t happen all the time, with new cities being announced only every few years.
Andy Cohen Describes What He Looks For In New “Real Housewives” Cities
GettyIn an interview with Variety, Andy Cohen detailed what he looks for when developing a new city for the “Real Housewives” franchise. “The cities that we want are usually the ones that are not obvious,” Cohen said.
In addition, Cohen mentioned the success of certain “Real Housewives” cities, including Potomac, Salt Lake City, and most recently Rhode Island, when locating new cities. He also mentioned how Bravo went to Salt Lake City before other reality shows started filming there. This was seemingly a reference to the success of Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” which also films primarily in Salt Lake City, Utah. “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” premiered in 2024, nearly four years after “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” in 2020.
Cohen revealed locations that have been fully cast and tested, but never made it past test filming. “We’ve cast in Nashville two or three times [,] we’ve cast in Chicago two or three times[,] we’ve cast in Greenwich, Connecticut,” Cohen said. Specifically, he revealed how Nashville, Chicago, and Greenwich filmed with groups of women. However, they did not work out in the end to become the next “Real Housewives” location.
While Cohen shared details about where the next “Real Housewives” could be located, there has been no confirmation of a new “Real Housewives” yet.
Andy Cohen’s Past Comments Regarding New “Real Housewives” Locations
Although there are eight “Real Housewives” cities currently airing on Bravo throughout the year, Andy Cohen is consistently asked about new cities. The “Real Housewives” executive producer has made several past comments relating to the future of new “Real Housewives” cities.
Cohen previously revealed one location that would not be part of the “Real Housewives” franchise. During an interview with Missouri’s KMOV, he mentioned that his hometown of St. Louis would be a “hard no.” This is because he felt that it would be a conflict of interest since St. Louis is his hometown.
In a November 2023 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cohen said “I think we’re very good right now.” He also called that time a “good moment in ‘Housewives’ world.” And during the after show for a December 2024 episode of his talk show “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” there were still no updates regarding a new city. “I think we’re in a pretty great place right now[,] but stay tuned,” Cohen said.
After a few years of no updates on new “Real Housewives” shows, 2025 brought a new location. “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island” was announced during summer 2025 and premiered in April 2026. Besides “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island,” there have been no specific updates regarding which new location will join the “Real Housewives” franchise.
