Shania Twain has three words for the Academy of Country Music: let’s go, girls! The superstar is set to host the awards show for the first time on May 17. Reba McEntire hosted the 2025 ceremony, marking her 18th time taking on the gig, so Twain has some big cowboy boots to fill, but she seems up for the job.
“I’m thrilled to be hosting the 61st ACM Awards in Las Vegas, a place that feels like home,” said Twain in a statement. This year’s ceremony will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Although the singer has been living in Corseaux, Switzerland, she has been in Las Vegas frequently in recent years. The singer-turned-host’s third Las Vegas residency, “Shania Twain: Come On Over,” ended just last year, and it looks like she can’t seem to stay away for too long.
Twain Is No Stranger to the Awards Ceremony
Although it’s her first time hosting the awards show, the “That Don’t Impress Me Much” singer has previously taken home three ACM Awards, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year title in 2000. In 1996, she took home the prize for New Female Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for her breakout sophomore album “The Woman In Me.”
An Instagram Reel celebrating the announcement of Twain’s hosting gig looks back at the Canadian singer’s long history at the awards show, including times former hosts and country icons like Dolly Parton have welcomed Twain to the stage.
The “Any Man of Mine” singer, known for her bold fashion choices, captioned the video, “First time hosting the @acmawards!! Now what will I wear?” Fans can expect Twain to embrace the glamour of the city and, if it’s anything like her Vegas residency, there will be multiple costume changes.
In addition to her ACM wins, Twain has also taken home five Grammy Awards and been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. She has sold over 100 million records, making her the best-selling female country artist of all time, thanks to country-pop crossover hits like “You’re Still the One” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!”
Twain Is Celebrating Women in Country
Getty“It’s such an honor to be part of this incredible night celebrating Country Music’s biggest stars, especially with so many talented women leading nominations this year,” said Twain in a statement. I can’t wait to welcome all of the fans and artists out for this unforgettable night.”
Megan Maroney is the year’s top-nominated artist with nine nods following the success of her third album, “Cloud 9,” released earlier this year. Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson, and Miranda Lambert all have multiple nominations as well. Kacey Musgraves is also set to debut a song from her upcoming album, “Middle of Nowhere,” live during the ceremony.
The Academy of Country Music Awards will stream live on Amazon Prime on May 17 at 8 p.m. EST/ 5 p.m. PST.
