The 2025 Country Music Academy Awards (a.k.a. the CMA Awards) are almost here. And they are shaping up to be one of the most exciting award ceremonies to happen this year. The CMA made a joint post with ABC on Instagram earlier today (November 13, 2025). Why? To tease an expanded list of performers. “You thought we were done? Not even close,” the caption reads.
With a mix of country legends, rising stars, and fan favorites, this year’s performer lineup is packed with talent. And that star power is bound to make the night unforgettable.
What to Expect: The Performers
The CMA post (above) revealed the additional acts joining the already impressive roster. They include Kelsea Ballerini, Brandi Carlile, Kenny Chesney, and Riley Duckman. In the same post Miranda Lambert, Patty Loveless, Old Dominion Music, Red Clay Strays, and Chris Stapleton were also added.
Yep, you read that right; Chris Stapleton is back on the CMA Awards stage, and honestly, the excitement is real.
These newcomers join previously announced performing artists, BigXThaPlug, Luke Combs, Ella Langley, and Meg Moroney. Shaboozey, Zach Top, Tucker Wetmore, this year’s host Lainey Wilson, and Stephen Wilson Jr. were also previously confirmed.
With country chart-toppers to fresh faces fans have been buzzing about on board. We’re sure this mix promises a night full of memorable performances. It seems like the CMA Awards are leaning into variety. By giving viewers both nostalgia and the thrill of discovering new favorites.
Honoring a Country Music Legend
Also in the spotlight: the Country Music Academy will give out the distinguished Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. To none other than Vince Gill, according to Country Now. And it seems like the perfect moment for Gill to get his due. The man has at least 20 albums, 30 + million records sold, 45 charting singles, 22 GRAMMYs, and 18 CMA Awards. Impressive.
GettyThe Country Music Academy has a long tradition of honoring country legends with this award. And past recipients include George Strait (2024), Alan Jackson (2022), Kris Kristofferson (2019), Dolly Parton (2016), Kenny Rogers (2013), and of course, Willie Nelson himself in 2012. Fans can expect a heartfelt performance commemorating Gill’s immense impact on country music.
