The show must go on! Country singer Riley Green pushed through the pain, continuing to perform for his fans despite an on-stage injury.
On March 14, Green sustained an injury near his ear while performing at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne, Australia. The 37-year-old singer was interacting with the audience when an object was flung toward him on stage.
In a video shared on social media, Green can be seen talking to his fans when someone from the crowd threw a mobile phone at the stage, hitting him on the face.
The shocking incident prompted Green to pause his set as crew members rushed to his side. Blood could be seen dripping down the side of his face.
Riley Green Continues Performing
Another video showed someone from Riley Green’s team wiping away the blood on his face and neck. Despite the visible blood, the singer continued performing for his fans.
According to CountryTown, Green addressed the incident on stage and made it clear that the disrespectful behavior wouldn’t be tolerated. The outlet also revealed that the person who threw the phone was immediately escorted out of the venue.
Green is the latest artist to experience this growing trend of concertgoers throwing objects at artists on stage, according to Billboard.
In 2023, Bebe Rexha was struck in the face when someone from the crowd threw a phone at her, injuring her eyebrow.
The following year, country singer Zach Bryan had to stop his show at the Tacoma Dome after one of his on-stage guests was struck with an object.
Other artists who experienced similar incidents in recent years include Harry Styles, Kelsea Ballerini, Cardi B, and Drake.
