Luke Combs Talks About a Possible Collaboration with Taylor Swift

When you hear Luke Combs, you pretty much think powerhouse country vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and more than a few industry honors. The 35-year-old singer-songwriter, who first broke into the scene with his debut single “Hurricane” topping the Country Radio Airplay chart in 2017, has since collected a stash of Country Music Awards and, most recently, the ACM International Award at the 18th ACM Honors.

Lately, the “When It Rains It Pours” singer has been globetrotting, riding the streaming wave to perform in stadiums from Nashville to Australia. Along the way, he’s collaborated with several artists who have shaped him into the singer he is today, proving he deserves to be one of the best country stars on the planet. But what’s got the country star grinning lately? A playful possibility by linking creative forces with Taylor Swift.

‘Her Music Is Undeniable’

In a fun, candid moment with Extra after picking up that ACM International Award, Luke wasn’t shy about his admiration for Swift. He gushed, “Her music is undeniable. It would be impossible to not know almost every one of her songs.” Sounds like a Swiftie at heart, right?

He recapped a recent encounter at Travis Kelce’s Tight End University event. “I got to meet her recently at the Tight End U… She was in town for that. She was really, really great.” Then he leaned into the fan vibes even further. “Her team was really, really great to my wife and her friends, and it was a really great time.”

Look, this isn’t your average fan-meets-superstar story. This is a bona fide country star who, just like us, is charmed by Swift’s down-to-earth vibe. And well, decided to brag about it without investigation, because let’s face it, it’s SWIFT we’re talking about here.

Combs Says the Words We All Want to Hear

Then came the moment fans had been waiting for! Could they collaborate? When asked by Extra if working with Swift would be in the cards, Combs replied with a relaxed grin, “It’d be fun… Yeah, that would be a good time.”

Alright, we’ll say it,  that’s invitation-level talk. Not a guarantee, not a softly whispered hope, but a confident nod toward possibility. A “collab” between Combs and Swift? It could be country gold, or better yet, pop-country gold.

Let’s get real for a second. Combs knows how to tap into listeners’ emotional cores. Swift, that’s a given; she writes the songs that people quote in their group chats, breakup texts, and viral videos on social media. A tag-team effort could break genre boundaries and hit both country playlists and mainstream charts.

Logistically, they’re already orbiting the same universe! Sports, Tight End U, stadiums, and awards shows, so a studio pair-up isn’t that far-fetched. And both artists are proven collaborators. Swift has written with everyone from Ed Sheeran to Jack Antonoff; Combs already shares respect with Garth Brooks and Tracy Chapman and has written with Jon Bellion and his own songwriting community.

Combs isn’t just playing coy. He’s serious enough to say he’d love it and charming enough to make us smile. Let’s not forget he’s smart enough to recognize the magic Swift brings. Whether it’ll happen or not, time will tell. But you can bet that if this collaboration does materialize, fans across genres will be buzzing for weeks.
