Country superstar Zach Bryan has reached a new milestone in his journey to sobriety. The “Pink Skies” artist opened up about making the decision to get sober last fall and has continued to work towards the goal.
Zach Bryan’s Sober Milestone
Bryan took to social media over the weekend to share that he has reached his three-month sober anniversary.
“[I] never understood people celebrating sobriety. Always seemed strange celebrating a lack of control at some point in your life,” he shared via his Instagram Story. “Always seemed corny as [expletive] to me. Made it to 3 months today. I completely understand now.”
Bryan continued, “Thank you to everyone who stood by me when the days were heavier. As my wife would say, ‘People just ain’t no damn good.’ I’m grateful for my tiny circle. Chaos is an old friend, and her face grows more faint by the day.”
“Such an ugly little victory,” he added.
Zach Bryan Announces Sober Journey
In November 2025, the “Oklahoma Smokeshow” singer shared a deeply personal letter to his fans about mental health and sobriety.
The singer explained that he took a 20-day solo motorcycle ride across the country before realizing, “I really need some [expletive] help.”
“Being in the military for a decade and then thrown into a spotlight that I hadn’t fully comprehended the scope of, had some subconscious effects on me as a person,” he wrote. “I was not content but I also feared showing weakness because that’s not who I am or how I was raised.”
He explained that alcohol helped him cope with “perpetual discontent.”
He was “always reaching for alcohol, not for the taste, but because there was a consistent black hole in me that always needed its void filled.”
At the time, the Grammy winner revealed he was two months sober.
“I haven’t touched alcohol for nearly two months now — something I had to do for my own personal clarity. I needed to see the world objectively,” he wrote. “I feel great. I feel content. I feel whole. There’s nothing I need to get me by anymore.”
Zach Bryan Got Married
While on his journey to sobriety, the country singer shocked the world when he announced his marriage to now-wife Samantha Bryan in January.
The pair’s whirlwind romance began in summer 2025 before they tied the knot in Spain on New Year’s Eve.
“My family supported me every step I took. Conversations about the future, kids one day, my health and Sammy’s happiness made me prioritize not only myself, but my entire family,” Zach wrote in his November 2025 letter.
Samantha honored Bryan’s late mother with a touching tribute in her wedding dress.
“I reckon you’d of loved this and her. We all took an aeroplane to Spain last week and you’d of eaten it up. You’d of ordered everything twice and made sure we got your dress perfect. Everyone I love, you woulda too,” he later wrote in lyrics seemingly written to his mother. “Wish you could have seen us smiling like kids when we met on that Spanish beach. She loves a man only a mother could.”
