LeAnn Rimes is putting her health first after a difficult diagnosis forced her to postpone several upcoming performances.
The 43-year-old country singer revealed that she has been diagnosed with “severe” laryngitis following a bout with COVID, prompting her to reschedule multiple tour stops.
Rimes Broke the Difficult News
Sharing the update with fans on Instagram Stories on Friday, May 1, Rimes explained the situation candidly.
“After a diagnosis of covid leading to severe laryngitis, I’m so sorry to have to reschedule next week’s shows,” she wrote. “A visit to my doctor for a scope of my vocal cords has confirmed the news and I wanted to tell you as soon as I could.”
As a result, her shows in Waukegan, Illinois, and Wilmington, Ohio, have been moved to November 6 and 7.
Fans who already purchased tickets will still be able to use them for the new dates, while refunds remain available for those unable to attend.
Despite the logistical adjustments, Rimes made it clear the decision was not an easy one.
“It breaks my heart, having to schedule these shows. There is no place I would rather be next week than celebrating with all of you,” she continued. “However, this is sadly out of my hands until I get this under control.”
She ended her message on a hopeful note, telling fans she’s “looking forward to seeing” them soon.
The postponements come just days after Rimes had already canceled earlier performances in Spokane, Washington, and Seattle due to illness.
At the time, she shared another heartfelt message with fans.
“Due to severe illness, I am unable to travel & perform this week,” she wrote. “I am truly heartbroken to have to reschedule and I am so very grateful for your kindness, and continued support as I recover.”
The string of cancellations highlights how seriously vocal health can impact performers, particularly for artists like Rimes, whose career has long been defined by her distinctive voice.
The health setback arrives during what had otherwise been a meaningful time in her personal life.
Rimes Recently Celebrated Her 15th Anniversary
Shortly before the announcement, Rimes celebrated her 15th wedding anniversary with husband Eddie Cibrian, sharing a playful and heartfelt tribute.
“15 years of loving you. 15 years of making memories. your love is such a gift. and, with all that’s taken place this year, i have new vows… in perimenopause and in health with teeth and without… here’s to you catching up and me returning the favor,” she wrote.
Rimes Has Been on a Health Journey
In recent weeks, Rimes has also been open about her wellness journey.
She went viral last month after sharing a video of herself undergoing a deep jaw release session with Human Garage, a wellness group focused on fascial therapy.
The clip showed her experiencing an emotional release during the treatment, which she later addressed during a livestream.
Responding to skepticism about the video, Rimes explained that the therapy was part of her broader self-care routine as she navigates “the perimenopausal, menopausal journey I’m on.”
For now, the focus remains on recovery.
