“Dancing With the Stars” season 35 is just under a month away. Right now, the celebrity contestants are meeting their pro dance partners are rehearsing for opening night. Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson is delighted to be part of the cast. However, he’s admittedly struggling a bit.
While the Savannah Bananas are incredibly talented singers and dancers, most of them have never stepped foot inside a ballroom. Jackson Olson is a wonderful entertainer on the baseball field, but he admits he’s never tried proper technique or ballroom before.
In a new video, he gave fans a glimpse inside the rehearsal studio. Though Jackson Olson has a lot of work to do before September 15, his fans believe in him.
Jackson Olson Admits He’s Never Worn Dance Shoes Before
Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson is preparing to tackle a brand new challenge. He’s no stranger to performing and entertaining fans on the field. However, ballroom dance is something entirely new to him.
“And so it begins… once I get this SHOE ON😭” the baseball player captioned a new Instagram post.
“POV: you put on dance shoes for the first time ever,” Olson wrote over the video. In the clip, he struggles to get the shoes on his feet, much to his offscreen dance partner’s dismay.
Thankfully, many fans left encouraging comments. Without a doubt, Jackson Olson and his dance partner will receive plenty of votes this season.
“You can do it king,” the official Savannah Bananas Instagram account wrote.
“One day he’s in cleats and now he’s is dance shoes 😭 So excited for all the content that’s to come documenting your journey on DWTS!! Ahhh can’t wait to see you dance on that ballroom and crush it like I know you will 😁” a sweet fan wrote.
“The former dancer in me is so excited for the DWTS content👏” another chimed in.
Other fans added that they’re excited to see which professional dancer Jackson Olson will compete with. So far, the only confirmed pairing is reigning champion Witney Carson and Guillermo Rodriguez.
DWTS Season 35 Adds New Phenomenal Names to the Cast List
With the “Dancing With the Stars” season 35 premiere less than a month away, fans have started speculating which celebs will enter the ballroom. At the DWTS convention, executives teased that this year’s cast will be bigger than season 34.
Though ABC hasn’t officially confirmed the news yet, Parade revealed “Step Up” star Jenna Dewan and Bachelor Nation’s Tyler Cameron are competing this fall.
Other rumored celebrity cast members include celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis, “Grey’s Anatomy” star Harry Shum Jr., boy band member Taylor Hanson, and Olympian Jutta Leerdam.
ABC will unveil the rest of the DWTS season 35 cast on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday, September 2.
