Dylan Efron is making “Dancing with the Stars” a family affair.
The 33-year-old “Traitors” winner revealed that his 5-year-old sister, Olivia, will join him for his upcoming Dedication Night performance, where each contestant honors someone meaningful in their life. Efron’s emotional dance will be dedicated to Olivia — set to “Rewrite the Stars,” sung by his brother Zac Efron and Zendaya in “The Greatest Showman.”
The sweet sibling duo gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at rehearsals on Instagram, where Dylan posted a carousel of photos featuring Olivia and his pro partner, Daniella Karagach. “Please welcome the newest member of Team DaDy, my lil sister Olivia,” he captioned the post. “She’s quickly become 2nd best dancer on the team and by far the cutest. Team DaDy-O.”
The adorable photos — including one of Olivia in tiny ballroom shoes — quickly captured the internet’s heart. Fellow DWTS stars filled the comments with love, with host Julianne Hough writing, “It’s the little ballroom shoes for me 🥹😭❤️.” Daniella added, “I’ll never get over the mini ballroom shoes 🥹,” while Jenna Johnson echoed, “OMG!!! “Something Special” for Dedication Night
Efron first teased the surprise last week during Disney Night, when host Julianne Hough joked that fans expected him to dance to a High School Musical song. “I couldn’t — yeah, I have something special for next week,” he said, catching his partner Daniella off guard. The reveal confirms what fans suspected: that he’d honor both family and music with a heartfelt nod to his brother Zac’s work.
In recent weeks, Dylan has given followers glimpses into his bond with Olivia — posting videos of the pair dancing and fishing together. In one clip, he wrote, “My sister taught my first ever dance lesson, so you better be nice 😤.” Another video, posted days before his latest reveal, was captioned, “Looking forward to this next dance :).”
A Family Bond Beyond the Ballroom
Dylan and Zac Efron share a close relationship, along with their younger half-siblings Olivia and Henry from their father’s second marriage. Dylan often spends time with the kids, calling Olivia “outgoing and so smart” and joking that Henry is “me to a T.”
He’s spoken openly about how becoming an older brother again later in life changed his perspective. “Spending time with Olivia opened my eyes to being a girl dad someday,” he previously said.
