If there’s one way to shut down an internet rumor, it’s by fully committing to the joke.
“Dancing with the Stars” pro Ezra Sosa and DWTS alum Jordan Chiles hilariously responded to recent engagement speculation by getting matching “just married” tattoos and sharing the moment with fans. The playful stunt came after a misleading online article claimed the longtime dance partners were secretly engaged, prompting the duo to lean all the way into the chaos.
Sosa shared an Instagram Reel showing the two inside a tattoo studio, laughing and hugging as they revealed the ink. The phrase “just married” appears in matching cursive, with Sosa’s tattoo placed on his right hand just below the thumb and Chiles’ tattoo already inked on the back of her neck. The clip was set to “Chiquitita” from “Mamma Mia!” and captioned with wedding ring emojis, making it clear the moment was meant to be tongue in cheek.
The comment section immediately filled with laughter and love. Fellow DWTS pro Gleb Savchenko joked, “Please adopt me ❤️,” while one fan wrote, “This is literally the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.” Another added, “The commitment 😂🔥🔥🔥,” and one user summed it up best by saying, “You’ve forever cemented yourselves as DWTS icons 🪩🪩.”
How the Rumor Started and Why They Leaned In
The tattoo gag followed Sosa’s earlier response to the engagement claim, which he addressed on TikTok just days before. In that video, Sosa reacted to a screenshot of the headline by smirking, putting on sunglasses and blowing kisses to the camera. He captioned the post, “Plot twist of the mf century,” signaling the rumor was completely false.
The speculation was especially off base considering Sosa publicly came out as gay in 2022, something fans were quick to point out as the rumor made the rounds. Still, instead of issuing a straightforward denial, Sosa and Chiles chose humor over correction, turning misinformation into a viral moment.
The two were partnered during season 34 of “Dancing with the Stars,” where they quickly became fan favorites thanks to their chemistry, humor and standout performances. They finished the season in third place and earned multiple high scores, including a perfect 30 out of 30 during the Nov. 18 episode.
A Bond That Goes Beyond the Ballroom
Throughout the season, Sosa was vocal about supporting Chiles both on and off the dance floor. When online chatter labeled her a “mean girl,” he shut it down, describing their relationship as “very much a brother and sister” dynamic and praising her character, per People.
Chiles has also spoken highly of Sosa, calling him an “amazing partner” and thanking him for being by her side through every high and low of the competition. Their connection, built on trust and humor, has continued to resonate with fans long after the finale.
As for the “just married” tattoos, the message is clear. Ezra Sosa and Jordan Chiles are not engaged, but they are absolutely in on the joke and having a blast proving it.
