SEE: Tom Bergeron Shows Up For Mark Ballas in the Sweetest Way

Tom Bergeron hasn’t been the host of “Dancing With the Stars” since season 28. But even so, he maintains strong connections and lifelong friendships with many members of the cast and crew.

After stepping away for several years, Tom made a special appearance during season 34 for the 20th anniversary celebration. The 70-year-old loved reuniting with old friends and enjoyed his time back in the ballroom.

Today, he’s showing support for pro dancer, Mark Ballas. The 39-year-old just joined the cast of “Chicago” on Broadway, much to fans’ delight.

Tom Bergeron Cheers on Mark Ballas During His ‘Chicago’ Run

Since Mark Ballas joined the “Chicago” cast on Broadway on April 6, many fans and stars alike have flocked to the Ambassador Theater to see him perform as the smooth-talking criminal defense lawyer, Billy Flynn. Fans even spotted Julianne Hough in attendance on opening night.

Now, Tom Bergeron purchased tickets to support his long-time friend.

“Here to see this guy in action (@whitleavitt isn’t in the show tonight),” the former “Dancing With the Stars” host shared on Instagram. In the photo, Tom beams and poses in front of a “Chicago” poster featuring Whitney Leavitt as Roxie Hart and Mark Ballas as Billy Flynn.

Sadly, Whitney Leavitt has briefly stepped away from the show, citing health concerns. In her Instagram stories, she informed fans she hoped to be back by Thursday’s performance.

Overall, fans loved seeing Tom Bergeron support one of the “Dancing With the Stars” pros.

“Like a proud papa!” one fan wrote in the comments, with others readily agreeing. After being with the show for 28 seasons, he practically watched some of the pro dancers grow up in the ballroom.

The Former Host Receives a Meaningful Gift to Commemorate His Years of Dedication

Many DWTS fans felt shocked and disappointed to learn Tom Bergeron parted ways with the show before season 29. However, one crew member recently decided that Tom deserved something special to remember all the happy years on the show.

“Five months ago, I had an incredible time returning for the 20th anniversary of @dancingwiththestars. Today at lunch, the show’s Production Designer, my Emmy-award winning friend @j.r.yarnell, had a sweet, shiny surprise for me,” the 70-year-old captioned an Instagram post.

In the video, he described meeting the DWTS production designer who presented him with a Mirrorball trophy of his own.

“Dancing With the Stars” returns to ABC this fall. Fans hope to see Tom Bergeron make another guest appearance sometime in the future.
