Following the death of Charlie Kirk, “Dancing With the Stars” pro Witney Carson paid tribute to the late conservative political activist’s family. See what the dancer said about the tragedy.
Witney Carson Shares Brief Tribute Following Charlie Kirk Passing
On September 10, Kirk was fatally shot during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.
Carson took to her Instagram Stories to share that she had “been crying and praying” for Kirk’s children, wife, and relatives. She added, “This is disgusting and wrong.”
“DWTS” alum Lindsay Arnold wrote that she was “sick to her stomach” over the news. “My heart and prayers go out to all those affected, and especially to the Kirk family for their loss,” she noted.
Arnold later responded to those who were critical of her message. “This shooting hit close to home for me (figuratively and literally) being that it happened at a university that I can literally see from my kitchen window,” she explained. “It’s not even 10 minutes away from my childhood home and people I know were at that school today and it was scary.”
She continued, “I don’t care what your beliefs are, murder and violence is WRONG!!!! The saddest part is that this kind of thing is happening daily and no I don’t comment on every tragedy, but if you know me you know that I feel the same about every single one. It’s heartbreaking and horrible!”
Arnold added, “Acknowledging one awful tragedy does not take away from another. My heart breaks for all those who lose loved ones to heartless violent acts.”
“DWTS” alum Candace Cameron Bure also shared a tribute post for Kirk, writing, “We love you, Charlie. Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Witney Carson & Robert Irwin Hit the ‘DWTS’ Dance Floor
Carson is paired with Australian conservationist Robert Irwin for “Dancing With the Stars” season 34.
On September 16, Irwin took to Instagram to share his excitement and praise his dance partner ahead of the first night of the competition.
“Tonight is our first dance in the premier of @dancingwiththestars. I’ve never done anything remotely close to dancing … safe to say I am the blankest of canvases 😂,” Irwin wrote in the caption.
He continued, “But before it all begins I want to say how grateful I am that I get to learn such an amazing new craft from the absolute best. Thank you @witneycarson for making this new adventure so awesome already, I’m so excited for this journey to officially begin.”
Irwin added, “#TeamIrWINit are here to give it our all. We’ll see you tonight, America!”
