Last month, Jermaine Dupri spoke out about the end of his on-off relationship with Janet, which lasted from 2002 to 2009. The “Welcome to Atlanta” rapper joked to Hot 97, “I’ve been trying to figure out why ya’ll don’t ever say she fumbled me,” after host Nessa declared the end of things with Janet “a fumble.”
He went on, “I look at like it’s a relationship. We were together for like eight years.” However, he acknowledged the A-lister appeared to dodge his attempts at an interaction when he appeared onstage at the Atlanta stop of her “Together Again” tour in 2023.
“She didn’t even actually talk to me when she came out. It was like, ‘You’re gonna come out and I’m gonna go change my clothes.’ I was trying to get her to talk, but she was walking away,” he laughed.
