Stevie Nicks attended the Met Gala for the first time at 77 years old, and rocked the red (or green) carpet in her signature style.
The star chose an outfit featuring a collaboration between a high street brand and high fashion designer.
Nicks Brings The Drama To The Green Carpet
GettyThe theme for this year’s Met Gala was “Costume Art,” and Nicks certainly didn’t disappoint when it came to the “Fashion is Art” dress code.
The singer wore a one-of-a-kind custom Zara dress designed by John Galliano, as reported by Vogue. Galliano has previously designed for high fashion houses Givenchy and Dior, as well as his eponymous label John Galliano. According to an Instagram post by Zara, Galliano has entered a two-year collaboration with the brand, in which he will “re-author the brand’s archives through a series of seasonal collections.”
Keeping true to her signature bohemian style, the dress was created from midnight blue silk taffeta, with a dramatic crinoline silhouette. The skirt featured an embroidered overlay, adorned with tulle and chiffon roses.

Nicks topped off the look with her iconic top hat – albeit a high end version by celebrated milliner Stephen Jones, furnished with an elaborate feather. The Fleetwood Mac singer collaborated on the hat’s design.
Nicks added sparkle from Tiffany & Co., choosing statement pieces from the jewelry label’s Blue Book collection. According to Town & Country, the necklace was platinum and yellow gold, featuring a 14-carat opal at the center, in a one-of-a-kind design. The necklace also featured almost 600 round brilliant diamonds, five square diamonds, and one kite-shaped diamond.
Nicks Teams Up With Pop Superstar To Perform Classic Song
Her red carpet appearance wasn’t the only surprise Nicks had in store for the night.
Guests were treated to the singer teaming up with pop superstar Sabrina Carpenter to perform Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.”
Rolling Stone reported Carpenter played her hits “House Tour,” “Espresso,” and “Please Please Please” before Nicks took the stage as the headline act for the event. She brought Carpenter back out to join her onstage in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Egyptian wing, first performing “Landslide” together. Carpenter then provided backing vocals on “Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow,” accompanied by a 12-person choir, according to reports by Vogue.
Solo, Nicks performed her hits “Gypsy” and “Edge of Seventeen.”
Nicks changed into a vintage dress by Morgan LeFay, paired with a jacket by Margi Kent, per Vogue.
The evening also featured a performance by Broadway’s Joshua Henry, who is currently starring in a production of Ragtime. He kicked off the evening with a performance of Whitney Houston’s single “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”
