Chef, entrepreneur, writer, and television personality Giada De Laurentiis has revealed she’ll be traveling to Milan as a Winter Olympics correspondent for NBC’s “Today” show.
De Laurentiis, 55, is best known for hosting Food Network’s “Giada at Home” between 2008 and 2015. She now regularly appears on “Today” as a contributor and guest co-host. Per IMDb, her other television credits include the likes of “Giada Entertains,” “Giada on the Beach,” and “Giada in Italy.”
The Italian-American, who was born in Rome, revealed her upcoming role in an exclusive chat with People.
Giada De Laurentiss Is Heading to Milan Next Week
GettyKeen skiier Giada De Laurentiis is traveling to Milan next week to begin carrying out her role as a Winter Olympic correspondent for “Today.”
The games are scheduled to take place from February 6 until February 22. Events will be hosted at locations across the administrative region of Lombardy and Northeast Italy. The opening ceremony will take place on February 6 at Stadio San Siro. It’s the joint home of Italian soccer giants AC Milan and Inter Milan.
Part of her role will see De Laurentiis collaborating with Italian brewing company Peroni. The aim is to promote limited-edition Nastro Azzurro gold beer bottles made with 5k gold caps and hand-stitched blue ribbon. The campaign aims to encourage Winter Olympics viewers to celebrate their own “blue-ribbon moments” throughout the games.
Speaking to People, the star said, “I think we all have them and we need to learn to really slow down and celebrate those moments, because at the end of the day, those are the memories that we create, and I think Italians do a really great job at doing that.”
De Laurentiis Has Big Culinary Plans for Her Time in Italy
Giada De Laurentiis recently posted a video on her Instagram account readying herself for her trip to Italy. In it, she eats a sandwich from one of her favorite local establishments in Florence. The video is captioned, “My Florence lunchtime favs, in preparation for my trip next week.”
Unsurprisingly, the chef has big culinary plans for her time in her homeland. She told People, “I’m going to take people on a Milanese food tour through making fresh pasta and eating the best osso buco and the risotto alla Milanese and veal Milanese and all of the specialties that are from that region.”
She continued, “I’m going to teach the anchors how to make fresh pasta. It’s going to be a whole really fun adventure.”
Additionally (and somewhat aptly), De Laurentiis says she also plans to do some skiing while she’s in Italy for the Winter Olympics. She told people, “I love to downhill ski.” She continued, “I grew up skiing and I grew up going to Cortina and going to the Alps to ski and the Dolomites with my family, and it’s a big tradition.”
It really does sound like an exciting trip on many levels! We hope Giada De Laurentiis has a wonderful time in Italy and can’t wait to see her reporting on the 2026 Winter Olympics!

Who better than a born Italian who knows her way around Italy, speak the language, can ski and cook – to handle this job. I will be excited to travel along with her.
Buona Fortuna da un altro Italiano…
