Jim Ferry — Guy changed his name back to the family’s original Italian last name, Fieri, when he married his wife — passed away in January 2024. According to his obituary, “Jim was also known as the “miracle man” as he survived pancreatic cancer for six years.”

On his first father’s day following his dad’s passing, Guy shared an update via social media.

“Hope everyone’s having a great Father’s Day. I’m with Hunter and Ryder and the family right now and bunch of our friends all getting together,” he said in a video shared via Instagram in June 2024. “Kind of a tough day for me, first Father’s Day without my dad Jim, but even when you’re having a tough day some little miracles happen in the world.”

He went on to share that the daughter of a close friend asked him to be her godfather that day.

“Today at dinner she came up to me and gave me a card and handed me this glass that says, ‘Only the best uncles are promoted to godfather,’ and asked me if I’d be her godfather. Pretty special day,” he added.
