On Saturday, April 4, Hallmark debuts its newest movie, which is titled “A Season to Blossom.” The film stars Emily Tennant and Carlo Marks, who play a “drifting aspiring writer” and her childhood crush.
Much of ‘A Season to Blossom’ Was Filmed in Fort Langley, British Columbia
The caption of an Instagram post shared by Hallmark teases that in “A Season to Blossom,” “A simple reflection can bloom into something truly beautiful.”
According to Tonboriday, “A Season to Blossom” was filmed in British Columbia, Canada. The movie’s setting is a charming small town, and the village of Fort Langley in British Columbia provided the perfect spot to base filming.
The Langley tourism website describes Fort Langley as a “story-book village” that is “like stepping into a silver screen escape.”
“The town is filled with old-meets-new charm,” the website notes. There’s a train station that was built in 1915, along with a railway that is still in service. The area is filled with “boutique shops, cozy cafes, and history-rich antique vendors.”
The small village has a population of around 4,000, which seemed just the right fit to be the hometown of Elise, the aspiring writer. In “A Season to Blossom,” Elise returns to her hometown to sell the bookstore her grandmother owned.
While visiting, the town’s “traditions — and her childhood crush — helps her rediscover her voice, her roots, and a love worth staying for,” Hallmark teases.
“A Season to Blossom” transformed some local businesses into the fictional businesses in the story, and viewers will see some of the area’s notable landmarks. The village’s community park, community center, and historic site all pop up along the way.
In addition, some scenes for “A Season to Blossom” related to Elise’s life away from her hometown were filmed in Greater Vancouver. Tonboriday added that the nearby Township of Langley and Fraser Valley were used during filming, as well.
Emily Tennant & Carlo Marks Are Hallmark Veterans
Tennant has starred in several other Hallmark projects over the years. Fans may recognize her from the 2023 movie “Holiday Hotline,” which was her first lead role for the network. In addition, Tennant starred in the 2025 Hallmark movies “Christmas Above the Clouds” and “The Wish Swap.”
She also had roles in “The Wedding March Series” and “Cedar Cove.”
Marks plays Max in “A Season to Blossom.” He previously appeared in “Chesapeake Shores,” along with movies such as “Kismet Christmas” and “Making Spirits Bright.”
During an interview with “Suspenders Unbuttoned Media,” Marks said the apple orchards where they filmed were his favorite location. They shot in December 2025, so the orchards weren’t in full bloom. Despite that, Marks explained, “Just being on that little farm and seeing that was really cool.”
The cast and crew had to navigate a lot of rain during filming. Luckily, however, the primary day of filming in the orchard brought sunshine that they needed.
Marks also raved over the supporting cast of “A Season to Blossom.” He said that they were great and teased that the movie includes a lot of fun moments. The actor also referenced a cat named Clover, and it sounds as if viewers will be quite charmed by Clover.
“A Season to Blossom” also stars EaeMya ThynGi and Devon Kenzo, according to IMDb.
