Despite Sweeney’s Hallmark role in the mystery series casting her as an adult, whereas her soap opera role started when she was a teenager, the actress found a stark similarity in her wardrobe for both characters, explaining the stylistic parallels on Instagram.
“These costumes were so much fun to work with. I loved how creative Kelsey, our Costume Designer, was with every single costume,” Sweeney captioned a photo of herself as Emily Lane in her latest Hallmark Mystery film. “It reminded me of one particular outfit I wore for a month straight (I think) as Sami! lol.”
In the comments of her post, fans of the actress agreed about the wardrobe similarities, suggesting that her blue dress in “Sugar & Vice” looked like the blue wedding dress Sweeney wore during one of her many weddings on “Days of Our Lives.”
“I think Sami comes out in your hallmark all the time. I love it,” wrote one.
“Did it remind you of your dress for Sami’s first almost wedding to Lucas? The sleeves in the first slide remind me of that beautiful dress ❤️,” added another.

While Sweeney has found a home on the Hallmark Channel, where she’s starred in over 30 films, her role on “Days of Our Lives” was seemingly the catalyst that launched her ongoing success as an actress.
Sweeney starred as Sami Brady in the famed soap opera from 1993 until 2014, her IMDb reported. She then returned to the show several times after her mainstay, marking nearly 30 years on the popular series.

Whew!! Thank you, I thought I had lost my mind!! I’ve been watching all through the Hannah Swensen Mysteries and their predecessor series, Murder She Baked, and I didn’t remember her EVER being called Emily Lane!!
