Hallmark Hunk Gushes Over Hunter King’s Talent and On-Screen Chemistry

Evan Roderick has been pretty lucky with his co-stars since he first began making Hallmark films eight years ago. As Austin in 2022’s “Autumn in the City,” he played opposite Aimee Teegarden. As Finn Walsh in “Providence Falls,” he played a man involved in a love triangle with Katie Stevens and Lachlan Quarmby, set across different eras.

On December 20, “A Make or Break Holiday” premieres on the Hallmark Channel. This time, Roderick stars with Hunter King as a couple who decide to take a break from their relationship at Christmastime. Unfortunately, they’ve already agreed to spend the holidays with each other’s families, so they’ll pretend they’re still together.

While there were several reasons Roderick was excited to make the film, he noted that working with King was among the most significant.

Roderick Reveals Three ‘No-Brainer’ Reasons He Signed Onto ‘A Make or Break Holiday’

During a chat with the “Heart in Motion” podcast, Roderick described “three things” that made “A Make or Break Holiday” a “no-brainer.”

“A really fun script,” he explained, was the first reason. “A ton of comedy, which I haven’t done a ton of comedy, so that was a big pull. Hunter King, obviously, she’s been taking this industry by storm. And Martin Wood, who’s a very seasoned director.”

He then expanded on his second reason for making the film: the fabulous Hunter King.

“She’s so talented and such a lovely person,” he gushed. “Acting is a funny thing where the more open you are, the more people are able to have a natural chemistry with you. And she’s such an amazing person offscreen that there’s a natural likeability, I think, for Hunter.”

“When you get to act with her, it’s like this open vessel, and she’s very engaging,” he continued. “It’s almost easy to have chemistry with someone like Hunter because she’s just so talented.”

“Hopefully, some of that is captured in this film, because she was a blast to work with,” he added.

Evan Roderick Reveals the Relatable Heart of ‘A Make or Break Holiday’

With so many Christmas films to watch, Roderick discussed what makes “A Make or Break Holiday” stand out.

“The thing about communication, how easily you can have these communication breakdowns in a relationship,” the “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries” star explained. “You hang onto these words in an argument. I think people will connect to that because the intention behind any of these arguments is, ‘I want to be closer to you.'”

“I just think audiences will hopefully connect to how real these people are,” he added.
