Hallmark hunk Evan Roderick is back for a new movie, having recently appeared in “A Make or Break Holiday” and “Providence Falls.” Ahead of the debut of his new film, Roderick gave fans some insight into his real-life romance with his wife.
Roderick’s newest Hallmark project, “Because of Cupid,” debuts on Valentine’s Day, February 14. Ahead of the movie that also stars Amy Groening, Roderick chatted with Swooon about why the pressure is on in his personal life when it comes to Valentine’s Day.
Evan Roderick Embraces Valentine’s Day for a Great Reason
Roderick joked that when it comes to Valentine’s Day, “I can’t drop the ball because my wife’s birthday is February 15th.”
Due to that, he feels, “I got to make the 14th special, and now I’ve got two days in a row to celebrate.”
The actor doesn’t seem to mind the high expectations he faces when it comes to Valentine’s Day, though. When asked what makes him swoon, Roderick replied, “My wife.”
Roderick seemingly hesitated briefly before answering, admitting it was a difficult question. He joked, “My wife makes me swoon, but if it was 2015, Jennifer Lawrence, probably. But that’s about it.”
He added, “No more. I’m a married man.”
The actor has been with Dion Karas for several years. An Instagram post on her page shared in October 2024 suggested they had just gotten engaged.
However, neither Karas or Roderick have shared anything publicly on Instagram about now being married.
Roderick’s Love Dion Karas Has Been in a Hallmark Movie, Too
Karas has also had some acting roles. Her IMDb page indicates she played an ATF agent in an episode of “Smoke,” and was a “Card Woman” in an episode of “Yellowjackets.”
Fans may also recognize her from Hallmark’s “Time for Him to Come Home to Christmas,” which aired in 2022. The movie starred Tyler Hynes and Holland Roden, who played Josh and Elizabeth. Karas played the character of Charlotte.
She will also appear in the upcoming Sarah Drew Hallmark movie, “The Stars Between Us.”
Hallmark Fans Are Excited About ‘Because of Cupid’
In Hallmark’s “Because of Cupid,” Roderick plays Marcus and Groening plays Naomi. The two are best friends and they decide to enter a Valentine’s Day competition involving mocktails.
Hallmark teases, “Things go awry when Cupid interferes with a love potion that affects Marcus and several of her friends.”
After Hallmark shared a sneak peek via Instagram, fans noted their excitement to check it out.
One enthusiastic fan gushed, “Can’t wait for this movie!!!!”
Another commented, “Can’t wait! Love these two!”
