Kimberly Williams-Paisley Sets Record Straight on Her Life-Changing Surgeries

Kimberly Williams-Paisley finally has her voice back — and now she’s using it to make a few things clear about her health. On August 29, 2025, the “Father of the Bride” actress and Hallmark alum posted a video taken in the hospital a year prior, with her adorably acting a bit loopy before she underwent one of two life-changing surgeries to regain her voice.

“Sometimes it feels really good to celebrate how far you’ve come,” she captioned the video. “A year and a half ago, I underwent the first of two procedures (the second one was last August) to get my voice back after losing it for almost two years. I worried I’d never again be able to project more than the voice you hear in this video.”

In the caption of her post, Williams-Paisley shared how “profoundly grateful” she is about for the healing that’s occurred since and for everyone who supported her along the way. However, so many people skipped reading the caption of her post that Williams-Paisley was flooded with concerned comments and well-wishes, prompting her to upload another video on August 30 to set the record straight.

Kimberly Williams-Paisley Assures Fans She’s ‘Doing Well’ Now

Williams-Paisley, who’s married to country star Brad Paisley (making his Hallmark movie debut this holiday season), uploaded the first video she posted again and hilariously wrote, “UPDATE for people who don’t read captions. Love y’all! 😁😁❤️❤️”

With the hospital video running in the background, Williams-Paisley superimposed another video of herself in which she explained to her followers, “Yesterday I posted this video for Flashback Friday, reflecting on this first procedure I had about a year and a half ago for my voice, and I thought it was funny.”

“Umm, a lot of people didn’t read the caption, and so they thought I was having vocal trouble again, Williams-Paisley continued. “And they were sending me wishes for a speedy recovery, and thoughts and prayers, and I just want to say: I’m great, I’m doing well, out of the woods, and so grateful for my health.”

“And I appreciate the well wishes,” she laughed, “but read the captions!”

Fans expressed relief for the clarification from Williams-Paisley, including some who admitted to not reading her previous caption. One cutely confessed, “Guilty😄 Glad you are doing well.”

Another chimed in, “Oops lol. Glad your are doing well! ❤️” while someone else wrote, “Missed the caption. Sorry. Happy to hear you are well. 🤍💚”

Knowing Williams-Paisley is well, some used the comment section to ask that she return to Hallmark Channel soon, eager to see another “Sister Swap” with Ashley or a return to her “Darrow & Darrow” mystery franchise. Though the actress didn’t respond directly to those comments, she did “like” them.

While her talented hubby is writing the anthem for Hallmark’s 2025 Countdown to Christmas and will appear in “A Grand Ole Opry Christmas” with 12 other country artists, Williams-Paisley has just joined the cast of “9-1-1: Nashville,” which premieres in September on ABC.

A Damaged Layngeal Nerve Left Kimberly Williams-Paisley Feeling ‘Trapped in My Body’

Williams-Paisley revealed in August 2024 that she’d suddenly lost her voice two years before during an event. After a great deal of investigation and attempts to heal it naturally, the actress said she was diagnosed with a damaged laryngeal nerve.

The “uncommon” condition impacts the way the voice box functions, according to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, often resulting in hoarseness and difficulty speaking, swallowing and even breathing.

The condition was life-changing for Williams-Paisley, who wrote in a social media post at the time, “I haven’t wanted to share about this much until now because it felt too vulnerable. I took for granted my ability to ‘use my voice’ before—for my career, for a good cause, for a timely joke, for SELF-EXPRESSION, for a loud dinner party. Instead, I’ve been the quietest in the room. I’ve felt meek. New people I’ve met thought I was a shy or reserved person. I’ve felt trapped in my body.”
