If there’s one thing Hallmark star Lacey Chabert loves, it’s a party. However, while most people’s favorite thing about parties is the actual event, for the “Groundswell” actress, it’s the planning and creating part.
“As a lifelong DIY enthusiast, I fell in love with party planning while coming up with creative ways to bring my daughter’s birthday parties to life,” Chabert told Parade.
So it makes perfect sense that she would pitch a series that focuses on designing the ideal party for people who are really making a difference in the world. And, with the help of her party planners, the props for “Celebrations with Lacey Chabert” are pretty fabulous. So it’s not surprising that, occasionally, some of those incredible decorations have found their way to Chabert’s home, as well.
Lacey Chabert Loves to Create the Most Magical Parties
Chabert has a nine-year-old daughter, Julia, and her love of DIY party-planning has led to the creation of some pretty adorable parties. For her daughter’s sixth birthday, she planned a Paris and cat-themed “French Kitty” party.
“That was really fun. [There were] macarons and she had this incredible cake that my friend made,” Chabert recalled to Us Weekly. “Everyone did, like, decorating [their] own berets and making their own little perfumes and that was my favorite one.”
She’s always looking for ideas and props for the next party. The “All of My Heart” star admitted that a few of them — like gingerbread men and paper flowers — may come straight from the set of her Hallmark series.
“From every celebration I am, like, stealing ideas, sometimes stealing [or] borrowing actual props,” she said. “I just returned some of the props I’ve borrowed from last season.”
“I have an entire garage full of it,” she confessed. “It was time to return them.”
Vintage Vibes & Jazz Jams: Season 2 Kicks Off with Two Amazing Parties
On September 15, Season 2 of “Celebrations” premiered with two episodes. Episode 1’s party was for Helen, the director of Las Fotos Project. Based in Los Angeles, the nonprofit’s goal is to “elevate the voices of teenage girls & gender-expansive youth from communities of color through photography and mentoring.” Helen had recently gotten engaged, so the celebration was a vintage-themed engagement party.
Episode 2 was a jazz-themed party for Billy, the founder of SAPPA (Scholarship Audition Performance Preparatory Academy). SAPPA provides “quality music education to minority and inner-city students and works to involve them in scholarship programs and arts competitions.”
Coming up on Monday, September 22, is a “western glam hoedown” and a “fish and chips extravaganza.” We’re pretty sure both of these will have some pretty epic decorations, and who knows? Chabert might get some party ideas for using them.
