HGTV’s Ant Anstead is gifting the most meaningful gift to his beloved parents: A home renovation. The “Born Mechanic” star has taken fans along the journey of renovating a centuries-old farmhouse in rural U.K.
Ant Anstead Shows Off Home Renovation for His Parents
Anstead has been hard at work renovating a 500-year-old post-Medieval farmhouse in the U.K.
The project is a gift to his beloved parents, Nigel and Sue Anstead.
“Showing the signs of progress as the first room is compete!!!! And I am so proud! It’s taken a mammoth amount of work to get this point!” the “Wheelers Dealers” star captioned a transformation video of the first bedroom, which he shared via Instagram in May.
While the renovation is featured in his series “Born Mechanic”, Anstead — who has been living in the home throughout the renovation — has taken fans along via social media, sharing glimpses of the progress.
“This doesn’t even begin to show the volume of work it’s taken to save this home!” he shared in an October update. “Oak frame repairs, removal of modern plaster on all four walls and ceiling to reveal the original beams, removal of the rotten floor, which was simply resting on the mud!”

“You’ll rarely see our faces on social media, let alone TV, but we were thrilled to contribute to a truly meaningful project-working on the home that Ant Anstead is renovating for his parents Nigel & Sue, whom we’ve known for over 20 years and in fact this is our second garden transformation together!” the company contracted to bring the garden to life shared via Instagram with before and after photos.
As the reality star showed off the completed second room in a Sunday, November 16, Instagram post, fans shared their love in the comments.
“Nice place to lay my head while in UK. And the food tastes just like my mums …. IYKYK x,” he captioned his post, which featured photos of the cozy living room and the fully renovated exterior.
