Fans of “Survivor” received a major news update about the upcoming season on Wednesday, August 26.
CBS hosted a YouTube live-stream to reveal the new season’s castaways, the latest batch of contestants who’ll attempt to outwit, outplay and outlast their way to the reality show‘s million-dollar prize.
A Game-Changing Twist
A just-issued press release lays out the details for the upcoming season, which promises to be unlike any in “Survivor” history thanks to a game-changing new twist that utilizes elements from all 50 previous seasons.
Not only will the weekly episodes be expanded to 90 minutes, the new season brings “an all-new expanded class of dynamic and determined competitors” in the “Open Era” season, “in which every twist, every idol, every advantage in the series’ history may come into play in any order and without warning.”
The release also introduced the 21 new castaways, which includes a professional wrestler, a sociology professor, a medical student, a baseball executive and a few farmers.
