Erin and Ben Napier’s Daughter Shares Powerful Reaction to Heirloom Hotel Fire

Erin and Ben Napier are still dealing with the aftermath of the fire that destroyed their beloved Heirloom Hotel. As the season of “Home Town: Inn This Together” came to an end, the couple —as well as their eldest daughter—shared their reactions to the devastation.

Ben and Erin’s Daughter Reacts

Ben took to social media on Tuesday, June 2, to share how proud he was of his and Erin’s eldest daughter, Helen.

“I asked Helen to make me a list of songs that sounded the way she felt after watching Sunday night’s Heirloom finale. This is what she came up with,” Ben shared via Instagram alongside a photo of Helen’s note. “I was impressed and had never even heard a couple of them.”

According to Helen’s handwritten list, her feelings during the season finale reminded her of “This Is the Last Time” by Keane, “Hero” by Family of the Year, “You Say” by Lauren Daigle, “Side Lines” by Phoebe Bridges, “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane, and “Last Kiss” by Pearl Jam.

The beloved HGTV dad’s followers were equally as impressed by the 8-year-old’s music knowledge.

“This kid’s musical taste is superior! I’m sure she had good influences 😄” one fan commented.

“Keane gives me all the feels every single time. Impressive list Helen 😍” another wrote.

A third added, “Pearl Jam wow! Looks like she has had some good music influences.”

Erin Napier Pleads With Insurance Company

After the season finale aired on HGTV, Erin — who also shares daughter Mae with her husband Ben — pleaded with the insurance company to do “the right thing” for the hotel.

Erin took to social media on Sunday, May 31, to share a handwritten letter from an 11-year-old to the hotel’s insurance company, Liberty Mutual.

“I am writing on behalf of my friends who own The Heirloom Hotel in Laurel, Mississippi. You may have seen this hotel on the HGTV show, ‘Home Town,'” the letter began. “This show has not only affected the small town of Laurel, but has changed the lives of many across the nation. What you may not know is that this gorgeous hotel burned to the ground late last year. Liberty Mutual is their insurance company.”

The author continued, “Our country has been in a hard time lately. This hotel and this show have shown truth and beauty, and what hardwork and true friendship can do. As of right now, your company has not approved [their] claim to have the money to rebuild. It is heartbreaking to watch the show and see how hard they worked. They put it all on the line. I am writing to ask respectfully that you please approve their claim. This is your chance to prove Liberty Mutual is different.”

As of publication, Liberty Mutual has not paid for the damages to the boutique hotel.

“Our friends worked so unbelievably hard, and we have never been more proud to be their friends,” Ben shared in a post of his own. “The fire shocked everyone. It has felt like a death of a loved one in the community. It has been nearly a year since the fire, and our friends are STILL waiting on @libertymutual to complete the claim. We don’t know what the future holds, but we know God holds us. Thanks for watching the biggest thing to happen in downtown Laurel in a long time.”
