Jenny Marrs Opens Up About ‘Deep Sorrow’ After Family Loss

Jenny Marrs shares some insight about a “brutal” aspect of life on the farm following the death of their pregnant sheep and her babies. The HGTV star explains the emotional turmoil of the animal emergency, praising her daughter for her courage, and asking for prayers after their tremendous loss.

Jenny Marrs Details Emotional 24 Hours on the Farm

On February 8, Marrs took to Instagram to share the details of the loss of their beloved sheep and her babies.

The HGTV star shared the journey with her fans the previous day on her Instagram Stories, but provided more insight as they mourned the loss, including a chapter from her book to explain more.

“The past 24 hours have gone from joyous expectation to deep sorrow here on the farm,” she shared in the caption. “My words from my ‘Lessons From the Farm’ chapter of my book resonate deeply today as we mourn.”

In her book, Marrs writes: “Farm life can be both beautiful and brutal. Today was certainly one of the hardest days. While we’ve witnessed hundreds of joy-filled miracles here on this little patch of land, we’ve also experienced deep grief. On this cold and dreary morning, I know it’s okay to sit in the grief while wholly anticipating the joy.”

The book passage continues, “My dear friend Andrea, who is acutely familiar with farm life, shared wisdom in my grief, ‘Being His means holding all of it — the miracles and the pain — and still raising our hands and saying, ‘I don’t understand this, and I wanted a different ending to this chapter, but I can still trust that you are good.'”

Marrs added in her caption, “Trusting that God is still good even when my heart hurts and that BaaBaa and her babies are frolicking on abundant fields together today even as we mourn their passing here.”

In the post, Marrs shared video and photos from the day that illustrated how their joy turned to sorrow.

HGTV Star Praises Daughter for Strength During Emergency

The “Fixer to Fabulous” star also shared a message of gratitude to fans while noting her daughter Charlotte’s incredible courage in the situation.

“Thank you all for the kind messages and for the prayers,” she noted. “Will you say an extra prayer for Charlotte? Gosh she’s strong and a little warrior.”

Marrs continued, “She never hesitated or shrunk back at the sight of blood or the lifeless babies. Dave got the other kids inside and was setting up heat lamps and starting a fire in the barn and Charlotte never considered going inside. She would not leave BaaBaa or the babies.”

She noted that her daughter “was so brave and so amazing and calm and kept saying ‘I believe in you!’ to the babies as she tried to revive them.”

“We prayed as we performed CPR,” Marrs wrote. “Charlotte declared that if the little girl she was working on survived we would name her ‘Hope.’ They died one by one but the one she had held out the longest.”

The HGTV star noted that they thought there were only two babies, but discovered there were four.

“When BaaBaa’s health took the turn it did, we made the impossible decision to try to save her babies. We knew we would lose her,” Marrs shared. “I don’t know if we made the right choice but I know we tried and gave it our all.”

“And that’s all we could do,” she added. “Somedays, farm life is beautiful and joyous and sweet. Other days, I want to pack up and move to a private island.”

Fans flooded the comments section with messages of love and support for the family.

“Bless you all. I’m so sorry for such a loss. I’m just so sorry,” one fan wrote. “Prayers for you all and especially brave Charlotte.”
