George Clooney and Amal Clooney are enjoying some family time in Italy after a frightening few weeks away from the spotlight. The couple stepped out with their 9-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, on Monday, August 10, for a Clooney Foundation for Justice fundraising dinner at Villa Passalacqua on Lake Como, Page Six reported.

The appearance was especially notable because George and Amal have long kept their children largely away from cameras.
According to photos published by Hola!, the family arrived at the lakeside gathering by boat.
George wore a light gray suit with an open-collar white shirt, while Amal chose a black dress decorated with colorful floral embroidery. Ella dressed in gold, while Alexander coordinated with his father in a light-colored blazer.

Seeing all four Clooneys together is unusual by design.
George and Amal have been protective of Ella and Alexander’s privacy since welcoming the twins in June 2017. Their family life has increasingly centered on Europe, with George previously explaining that raising his children away from Hollywood gives them a more grounded childhood and greater distance from paparazzi.
Parenthood has also reshaped how George approaches his career. While discussing how he and Amal juggle demanding work schedules, the actor admitted there is no perfect formula.
“But, you know, you’re never going to get it all right. No one does,” George told E! News in 2025.
He has also said independence is something he wants to instill in the twins. While discussing their life on the family’s French farm, George explained that the children have chores and are being taught practical skills, adding, “It’s important to me that they can survive.”

Ella and Alexander are also reaching an age where their father’s unusual day job is becoming harder to miss.
In April, George told People that the twins had begun connecting the dots after watching some of his work, including “Fantastic Mr. Fox.”
“That’s kind of fun because the kids are slowly figuring out what I do for a living, you know?” he said.
The family outing also came shortly after Emma Watson was photographed arriving at George and Amal’s Lake Como property on August 8. The “Harry Potter” star’s unexpected visit sparked curiosity, though there has been no confirmation that it was connected to the foundation’s gathering two days later.

Less than two weeks earlier, George, Amal and the twins evacuated their home in Brignoles, France, as wildfires threatened the surrounding region. George’s representative confirmed the evacuation, and the actor sent a letter to Brignoles Mayor Didier Brémond expressing concern not only for his own property, but for the wider community, as reported by People.
“As we evacuate Brignoles we want to emphasise 2 things, first we hope you and the people of our city are safe and second that Amal and I are committed to making sure that whatever happens to our village, we are part of this community and we’ll be part of making it whole,” the couple wrote.
The Clooneys purchased their vineyard property in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in 2021. Reuters reported that George, Amal and their twins obtained French citizenship in 2025.
