Joanna Gaines enjoyed some one-on-one time with her two daughters, Ella and Emmie Kay. The trio spent their summer exploring the English countryside in the Cotswolds.
Joanna — who typically prefers to keep her children out of the spotlight — shared a montage clip of their European girls’ trip.
Gaineses Take the Cotswolds
The mother of five spent the summer in the stunning region just outside of London with her teenage daughters. Joanna, Ella and Emmie Kay were hosted by House on Horizon, a company out of Traverse City, Michigan, that hosts international antique buying trips.
“Finally got to the English countryside with my girls✨,” the former HGTV star shared via Instagram on Tuesday, August 18. “Thanks for showing us around @hohantiques. It was all such a dream 🥹.”
While fans were jealous of the one-in-a-lifetime experience, many simply could not help but point out the similarities between Joanna and her girls.
“Is this a hair commercial?! 😍,” one follower commented.
“the hair is hairing !! ✨” another wrote.
“Gaines girl hair genes run strong 🤩,” a third added.
Another chimed in, “Love this! And the genes are strong with yalls pretty matching hair😍”
“You are so fortunate to have those memories together ❤️ Absolutely beautiful ❤️,” yet another fan shared.
In the video, the “Fixer Upper” alum and her girls are seen meandering through the countryside, taking in the stunning sites, twirling in the streets and stopping for photos.
Ella, a student at New York City’s Parsons School of Design, put her photography skills to the test on the trip.
The women also did a lot of antiquing, flower picking and eating. The video was set to Dennis Wilson’s song “Rainbows.”
Joanna’s Girls
While it’s unclear where Chip and Joanna’s younger daughter, Emmie Kay, plans to go to college, eldest daughter Ella seems to be following in her mother’s footsteps.
The design students has built-in teachers at home and was able to test her hand on a project on the family’s Colorado vacation home.
“In true Colorado style, we had a surprise Spring snowstorm last night. But today, I’m excited because I’m here with my daughter Ella. Chip has always told Ella, ‘Hey, before you go to college, I want you to flip a house, do a project,'” Joanna said during the premiere of their newest series, “Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House”. “She’s always mentioned that she wants to do something in design. We’ve actually looked for houses in Waco, [but] didn’t find anything. But Chip had this fun idea to let her tackle the little cottage as her first design project.”
According to Joanna, she and Ella has similar taste when it comes to design.
“We both love plants, we love charming, cottagey things, we love story. So my biggest hope with letting her tackle this cottage is that it builds confidence in her,” Joanna added. “The idea that my daughter who is now an adult, has decided to take on what her mother does, and I get to teach her—I don’t know, it just feels like this beautiful full circle moment.”
