Joanna Gaines has something fun planned for fans — and even the way she announced it is amusing. The former HGTV star just teased a new project coming to one of her properties in Waco, TX.
Joanna Gaines Announces Hotel 1928 ‘Decade of Design’
On August 18, Gaines took to Instagram with a cute announcement about an upcoming event at the Hotel 1928.
“Ring ring … ☎️ So glad you answered. We have something fun to share!” she noted in the caption.
Gaines continued, “Something exciting is coming to @thehotel1928 in Waco, TX. To celebrate a decade of Magnolia Home × Loloi, we’re transforming spaces throughout the hotel with immersive installations inspired by ten years of design together.”
“Visit @thehotel1928 September 17–20 to experience the Decade of Design activation, open to all guests and visitors,” she added. “More details to come. #joannagainesxloloi.”
In the video, Gaines makes a phone call on an old-fashioned phone. “Okay, I’ve got this idea. I wanna plan a party, a big party,” she says. “We’re gonna take over the hotel. There’s gonna be rugs everywhere.”
“And guess what?” she adds. “Everyone is invited. Let’s go!”
Fans flooded the comments section, sharing their excitement over Gaines’ big news.

Joanna Gaines Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary of Magnolia Journal Magazine
On August 14, Gaines celebrated Magnolia Journal’s big anniversary with an Instagram post that took a look at every cover.
“10 years of magazine covers 🥹,” she wrote in the caption.
Gaines continued, “As I reflect on the past 40 issues, I’m especially grateful for the incredible team behind each one. Thank you to all the writers, photographers, art directors, graphic designers, production folks … the list goes on.”
“Thank you to everyone for your creativity, your heart, and your countless hours of hard work and dedication that bring this magazine to life every season,” she added. “Now let’s go make 40 more 😉.”
In another post, she wrote, “Our 40th issue 😍. It feels wild to put that kind of number to it. Ten years ago, our small team could never have imagined we’d still get to create this beautiful magazine.”
She continued, “If you’ve been on this journey with us — thank you! I hope you feel we’ve brought you along, shared what we’ve learned, and made each theme feel like tangible fruit: there for the taking, enjoying, and nourishing. 🤍”
