Former HGTV star Keith Bynum is celebrating his mom this Mother’s Day with a touching Instagram post. The “Bargain Block” star noted that while she was “a tricky person sometimes,” he loved her “so very much.”
Keith Bynum Shares Sweet Mother’s Day Tribute
On May 10, Bynum took to Instagram to share a special tribute to his late mom.
“I loved my mama so very much,” he wrote in the caption. “It’s been a few years since she passed and she was a tricky person sometimes but she taught me so much. My love of art and houses and creative things all came from her.”
Bynum continued, “The last ten years of her life were so difficult for her. She suffered under the weight of her own mind and she never could accept how my life turned out. But I know somewhere in there she still loved me.”
“Hope you are all having a wonderful day with your mamas,” the former HGTV star added. “Hug them if you can 😊.”
In a 2021 HGTV Pride Month video, Bynum told HGTV star David Bromstad that his family wasn’t supportive when he came out.
“It did not go well when I came out, so they have essentially disowned me,” he shared. “I just kept working, and Evan [Thomas] kept helping have me focus on what we love doing, and it got to a point now where I realize it’s their loss. It’s not going to hold me back from having a fabulous life and being who I am.”
In a May 2022 Instagram post, Bynum shared a photo of him holding his mom’s hand as she lay in a home hospital bed.
“It’s never too late to start again. #lovemymama,” he wrote in the caption.
